Hi guys.
I purchased a couple of RLC-510A cameras to add to an older installation that I have.
I can't seem to install any firmware on this device, all downloads come up with an invalid file format error. See below.
I've tried all available downloads and no joy; this isn't a problem with my older cameras of the same model.
Thanks... ClarkReply QuoteShare0- Share this Post

Reolink camera files have a file extension of *.pak.
You did extract the *.pak file from the *.zip file that was downloaded, correct? -
@clark_463039665144015 you need to select the pak file under the folder.

Your camera version IPC_523128M5MP_V2 is different from version IPC_523128M5MP, so you can not update at present.

@Reolink-Fiona
What is the difference of V2? Just noticed my recently bought ones are V2 also? -
@kristof @clark The hardware version with V2 is just the new hardware version for the camera. The features are the same as the old hardware version. But for the camera's firmware with hardware version V2, there is no new firmware now.

I just purchased 16 cameras RLC 510 and 520A, IPC 523128M5MP_V2 and they all crash and require a hard reset when I attempt to turn on the onivf port. This renders these cameras almost useless and I'm wondering when there's going to be a fix.

@sasuke my 510A camera crashed while update and ask me to reboot it.
Now I can't start update process. I've got message "Device is busy, please try again later" -
@cameraman Remove power plug and re-insert after 10s. If need invoke a reset. Ensure that the firmware is for your hw version.
-
@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 It's bad idea to reboot a device which you updating right now.
I've update firmware. Just need reboot camera BEFORE updating.
Another point - web interface don't tell you that updating complete. Just refresh a page. -
@cameraman but if the device remained in state busy you have no alternative. Sometimes restart is required by some entities following an upgrade. Lately I completed an upgrade of the mobile switching Centres of an operator and on completion I had to do a reboot (of course after backing up the upgraded application system).

@cameraman
This firmware is for RLC-510A V2.
Is the hardware version of your RLC-510A different?
My RLC-510A was able to update without issue. -
@sasuke another problem here! Camera unexpectedly switch off after a while.
Build No. build 22082200
Hardware No. IPC_523128M5MP_V2
Config Version v3.1.0.0
Firmware Version v3.1.0.1228_22082200
Details IPC_523128M5MP_V2S10E1W01100000
How can I restore previos firmware? -
@sasuke I tried to use this update and the camera appeared to update however I can no longer assess the camera in any way. I have tried to reset to factory and to no avail. Is my brand new camera now a brick? I have 2 more that I am now not game to try in case the same happens.
Camera hardware details berore update as folloows: -
did you manage to solve the problem. I update the camera and I can't open and view it. Help
-
@sasuke hey thanks for posting this here. This firmware has additional options for video streaming like keyframes and makes the camera work with blue iris. Thanks for posting here
