Yes, Reolink cameras have a HUGE bundle of cords!Even though these models support Power over Ethernet (PoE), they also can be powered by a transformer. (I have done it.)The reset button is convenient during initial setup. The cameras can be rebooted remotely, but not "Factory Reset". That takes the button. I have not pressed the reset button since my cameras were installed. With an NVR, cameras can be viewed using a TV set connected directly to the NVR. No network required. But, most of us would prefer to view cameras or recordings from elsewhere. For that, the NVR has to be connected to a local network (router). To view files remotely, the local network has to be connected to the internet through a modem (and an Internet Service Provider).I found that the weatherproof ethernet connector was the critical component when drilling holes for installation. I would shove that part through the hole first, and once it was through the power cord and reset cord went after it.
Thank you for your reply. I want to add a 4TB hard drive to the NVR via the eSATA on the rear of the NVR. I have the 4TB Hard drive (a MY Book by WD). All I can find is USB3 to eSATA, NOT eSATA to USB3 (the external hard drive has a USB3 connector). Is the USB3 to eSATA cable bidirectional - can I use a USB3 TO eSATA cable?
Can we please get a confirmation that this is actively worked on and possible an ETA ? We been waiting for too long now. If it's not coming just be truthful about this so we that can have the option to move on.Your normal response dosent hold up, you are getting this feedback and have for years , there is no question about this which your responses say.
Please email at support@reolink.com and our technical support will help to confirm it. Thanks for your understanding.
I thought you worked for reolink? Probably better if you email / contact them from within and get back to us here instead
Ping, have you asked your own company yet to get an ETA confirmation? I have already tried before so better you do it.
Hi, Reolink is still trying to add more features to the Reolink cameras. Recently, we have enabled Alexa function for Reolink cameras (doesn't including the old version with old hardware), but the IFTTT function is still under developing. And for the HDD question:For the 8-channek NVR, the external HDD needs extra power adapter, and it can be added to the NVR via the eSATA socket only. Please refer to this link: https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360005091374-How-to-Expand-the-Capacity-of-Reolink-NVRs.
Hello, we are in may 2020, no IFTTT, no Apple HomeKit
Hello, the IFTTT function is still under developing, it will take time to achieve it. Thanks for your kind understanding.
So where is IFTTT? Been under development for 3 years now and same copy and paste answers from support. Is it time to abandon reolink now since it dosent seem to be any truth in it.I have developed for IFTTT and it takes a week for a novice programmer. An experience programmer can do it in 2 days, add QA on that and ready in 2-4 weeks.
Well,It is a total lie, anyway, they won't change for the old cams. The huge dev departments composed of one part time student is too busy adding new cams they buy and resell. No respect for the customers!Just another non pro low cost low supoort chineese crap that you trash to buy serious products (my nest cams are runnkng well).
Been following this IFTTT thread for a while now. I have an Argus 2, it would be better to integrate it with smart switch/lights thru IFTTT since Argus 2 doesn't have a spotlight like the coming Argus 3 or Lumus. Willing to add those cameras especially if they have IFTTT integration.
Hello, that's why I'm going to switch to instar iNSTAR
Thanks, i will try this brand. More expensive but not toys, they have a decent software and IFTTT
+1 for IFTTT
@Carl_31331526639 @Cynthia_124785627824270Any update on IFTTT integration? You said this was being worked on 3 years ago?
Where is IFTTT integration?Come on guys, we're soon in 2023 and this post started in 2018.
If not IFTT then at least api access!
Any update on this? Almost at the point of replacing all of my cameras just to have IFTTT available.
Indeed. I just picked up a new Reolink Doorbell, and I’m really surprised IFTTT isn’t supported. (I have 4 other Reolink Cameras as well). Then I find this thread that is… how old? IFTTT is hardly HomeKit, I would think it would be a breeze to implement…
