I have 2 Macs each running Ventura 14.1.1
One is a MacPro 2019 w/ Intel
other is MacBook Pro with M1 chip
--
I have the macOS Reolink application - the recent update to 8.13.1 and I have two major issues
1 - most of the time with I QUIT the Reolink application it actually crashes and I get "The Reolink has unexpectedly quit" and do I want to report, reopen or ignore. Not a big irritation as I was done with the app but this is a NEW issue due to the update.
2 - I have a Reolink Floodlight (no camera) and the new app say "This device is not supported yet" - what happened???
3 - Due to an issue with a DoorBell POE sending me 40 "motion detected" emails an hour I did a factory reset. On the laptop I then provided the required new password. Not I cannot get signed into the DoorBell POE on my MacPro. Says password not correct.
I already DELETED it from the Reolink App on the MacPro. The app then sees it but still won't allow me to sign in.
None of these were issue with the previous release of the Reolink application for macOS
Please advise.Reply QuoteShare1- Share this Post

@qb_6723597436 Same here. V8.13.1 ist very buggy...
-
- Recent clients seem to have some bugs and customers are rolling back to their previous running version. Even me I have reverted to v8.11.0 as v.8.14.0 had issues with icons bar and low video quality at CLEAR mode.
- Stand alone floodlight is no longer supported on their Windows and MacOS clients. We can only control it through the Android/IoS application.
- Do you have any special character in your password? Try a simple one.

I had also similar problem on Doorbell WiFi on my MacBook Air M2 running Sonoma 14.1.1 (23B81) with the old Reolink Client when it showed repeatedly an error message "Login failed" on Doorbell Wifi but shows all three other cameras normally. However, Reolink apps shows all four cameras without any problems thru my IOS devices (iPad and iPhone) and also the problematic Doorbell WiFi cam works normally thru the iPad and iPhone. It didn't help trying to re-input the correct admin password on MacOS Reolink Client. Also, when tried to delete the Doorbell device on Reolink Client, it always pop up again to the Devices list with the same "Login failed" message.
Now, when upgraded today 22-NOV-23 macOS Client to version 8.8.5 (but didn't touch to MacOS 14.1.1), all connections seems to work normally without earlier login problems BUT I simply cannot see any cameras thru the Reolink Client 8.8.5! All live video are shown as black screens. IOS clients still works perfectly as earlier. -
@qb_6723597436 same crap for me.

Brand new Reolink user here. Mac Mini M2 Pro running Sonoma 14.2 and Reolink client v8.13.1. I'm having the same "unexpectedly quit" issue. More problematic is difficulty downloading video files via the client. I can usually download ~100 Mb in files before the download freezes. When I try to close the client, I have to Force Quit to get it to close. I'd happily downgrade the client version if an earlier version doesn't freeze during the download process. Any version suggestions? More importantly - how do I downgrade the client?
