@joseph_1979 true - but would be good to have the most recent firmware versions available on the website, I don't understand why this is not the case, because it is a lot more work to do when the support team has to reply on e-mails asking for firmware-files...
@mike_201907_662346852388871 There are 2 port PoE extenders available which are powered by PoE+ or PoE++ (PD / powered device) and can power two cameras with PoE+ each for example... Also available as an ruggedized outdorr version...
@user_757956322103537_757956322103537 Does the camera a normal start-up? (panning and tilting when connecting to power or PoE?) Can you ping the camera? Which firmware version do you use?
@joseph_1979 ...think this is not possible with 4G cameras for example...
@antonio089_626720538640449 as nobody really answered your question I will try...Your question was: "Can I buy 1 or 2 more wifi cameras, to connect to the same wifi network of the first main camera, where is located the sim?"Basically a 4G camera with SIM card does not provide you any wifi network for other cameras so the answer is: No.4G cameras with SIM cards are only standalone cameras (unfortunately - and this is a disadvantage when needing more than 1 camera). If you need more than one camera and only have 4G connection it will be necessary to have a SIM card for each camera as one kind of a solutionor as the more professional way: use a 4G router and build your PoE network which is supplied by a good solar power system which you alsocould use for other things in that house if necessary...
@s-stoessler_71959255531 I fully agree. But: I prefer to do a different approach where I also can extend the system with more cameras and use the internet connection also for other devices like laptops, etc. for example...Like: using of a standard solar power system with battery (if not anyway installed in a cabin far away from a village) and use PoE powered cameras where the AI detection of people and cars and movements in general always works very nice and reliableand then use a robust outdoor 4G or 5G router resulting in having a small but perfect network at that cabin for multiple use and being able to add more cameras if necessary to see all around that cabin.I would never offer a solution like this camera & solar panel set to any customer because it is a standalone solution with no possible extra use at all... Hope you understand my point of view
@tom_498320825041125 where to find?
...any answer or comment from @Reolink-Fiona or @Reolink-Frazer on this?I am still waiting for the RLC-823A 16x to be listed on the firmware download site.
Just tested the new RLC-823A 16x - unfortunately the Autofocus does not work properly when in full zoom.. It never finds the correct setting by itself but when doing it manual it is possible to set it correctly. In general on the RLC-823A and RLC-823A 16x: the autofocus works very slow and especially with the 16x version the focus setting should be saved with the preset position as well so that all is set when a preset is activated.Would be great if this could be optimized in next firmware version and please make the 16x firmware also available online.Firmware: v3.1.0.2040_23041423_v1.0.0.93
I am wondering why someone needs 24/7 recording when very good AI with detection of people and cars and pets is available?!This solarpanel looks huge on a cabin and compared to the small camera I really dont see any reason to install this big thing on a cabin or small house. Is there really a need for a product like this? I install a lot of cameras on farms and places far away from villages but there was never a need for 24/7 recording.
@reolink-fiona Thanks for the information. Is it planned to be able to add third-party devices in future as well? Actually I am looking for a solution to use only one app which has to be easy to operate like the Reolink app. With this app it should be possible to check live cameras and also operate 2-4 outputs (relay outputs)... Unfortunately the Reolink cameras do not have any switched outputs on a separate cable for example and so my idea is to use at least third-party devices (like the SONOFF devices) for that kind of systems...
@big_ted thank you for your answer.Unfortunately this plug is more or less maybe good for some indoor home devices but I am looking for more professional solutions and so it would be nice to be able to control third-party devices…
Wondering about the new function to add IoT devices into Reolink app…What kind of devices can be added there? Is it possible to add for example the SONOFF devices so it is possible to switch something On and Off within the same app as the cameras can be operated?
@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 …“So to be able to communicate with the camera at all times you need to request a static IP on your SIM from your mobile operator. I guess this is at a charge.“…Sorry but this is fully wrong…!!I installed lots of Reolink cameras with 5G routers, 4G routers and within normal internet installations with DSL routers etc. and there was never a static IP necessary…!
@user_607883587289105_607883587289105 As there is already an answer with lots of text I give you a short answer:It is possible to use Reolink cameras through 4G routers as the Reolink cameras usually use a UID and so the camera is reachable anywhere on the world in the App or client software…So there is absolutely no reason to think about IP adresses and so on…
It would be great if there is one or two switching output contacts - either for manual activation from the App (like the spotlight on/off) or automatic switching when an alarm is active.Axis cameras for example have this feature and it can be used to trigger some external devices like lights or to open a door etc.
Hi allI made my own corner mounting bracket for RLC-823A with integrated threads…One 823A can be mounted in the middle and on each side its possible to mount 810 or 811 as well…
Hi,I have several cameras that look at a scene from different angles. Now I noticed that when an alarm was triggered by one camera, whether person or vehicle, it not necessarily triggered the alarm also on the other camera, maybe because of sensitivity settings, distance, object size, whatever...Personally I would find it very useful if you could link some cameras together, so if one registers an alarm it can tell the other camera to record also. Two viewing angles = better identification of intruder or whatever. That should not be a big issue in the same network, as the app for example can register cameras in the same network, so cameras could surely do the same. Or give the opportunity to put in specific IP adresses of linked cameras.Or maybe some kind of "broadcast" the camera sends to the local network and other devices can react. This maybe would also be helpful for an app notification on e.g. mobile phones if you use your cameras only within a local network or with VPN.So that's my wishlist
This would be great!addition: If each of the PTZ cameras know the direction (compass based) of the motion (tracking direction) then this maybe could be broadcasted to other ptz cameras so all point to the "intruder" for example...(but I understand, this will give a big thing on configuring cameras and will be only possible by professionals / technicians...)
Dear Reolink-TeamAs I use a lot of reolink cameras for agricultural projects on farms etc. (indoor and outdoor) my wish is to be able to set updifferent user accounts with different operation rights...For example:
The actual main differencies regarding the users are more or less based on user configuration rights etc. but not really on operational featuresbut behind each Reolink camera seen via mobile phone or tablet is a user who wants to check something and so these user accounts should morebe based on "user" differencies...This is one of my main wishes which are out of practical use of lots of Reolink cameras.Thank you and best regardsDino
