@joseph_1979 @Reolink-Daisy Hi Joseph, once again I fully agree with what you say, but in any case a camera must work perfectly because it is a tool designed to protect security. I attach the image relating to the September fair in Berlin, where you can see on display what appears to be a new advanced trackmix wifi model. Was there Fiona before? Is it gone now? Is there Daisy? But announcing a firmware by republishing the same link for both the wifi and poe versions of track mix already consolidated as terrible and not working, what sense does it make? Just as it makes no sense every time you write to support in detail about the problem, few times does anyone who reads understand and it is therefore difficult to obtain a solution. They should also publish the link to the repository of the previous versions of the Windows and Mac client, of the Android and iOS versions and also of all the previous firmware versions, so that rolling back is simple. At the same time why not insert a new function both in the android and ios apps that saves the current configuration, but also for windows and mac clients so that in case of problems reinstalling the app or client is simple and fast without going crazy to reconfigure the entire system cameras, emails, ftp etc...
@joseph_1979 Thank you very much for your sincere answer, which I shared. They are so busy with this upcoming fair that they have not even inserted the link and the announcement of the new Windows client version on the page, which some say works and others do not. By the way, the new Android version has also come out, which I have not received yet, but every time I make the sign of the cross that everything works. With Reolink it is like this unfortunately. Now Daisy has announced the release of the 2 new trackmix firmwares but going to the link inserted they are always the same.
@joseph_1979 Now I'm starting to understand.. From 6 to 10 September Reolink will be present at Ifa 2024 in Berlin. If you look at the Reolink website there is for example in addition to the mention of the aforementioned fair also a series of images of new products, among which a new Track Mix wifi stands out, Surely it will be wifi6 and will also have other new features. I understand that it is important to present new products and in that case the firmware of the same must be perfect to avoid bad impressions at the fair and lost sales, but I think it is not correct and unprofessional to treat customers who have trusted Reolink for years and purchased their products in this way.
@joseph_1979 I have been in contact via email with support since early August, but at the moment there are zero solutions! This is yet another email sent to support (I'm in contact with Zoey): How many days do you think it will take for this firmware to be released? The first version on August 4th, produced a drop in the wifi signal, but the camera image was excellent. To remedy this they released a new version on August 14th, but the wifi signal was still low and the image terrible, as were the colors. To remedy this they issued a further version on August 15th, but with the same problems. I believe that based on the version issued in November 2023 where everything worked correctly they can only make other improvements using the same parameters. For an expert engineer who designs the firmware it is very simple to do it, but this does not appear to have been done, it seems like attempts by inexperienced people given the terrible results
Kindly RegardsMarco
Every time Reoilink releases a new Windows client version or Android app, I personally always find problems and malfunctions. All this is unacceptable especially when these programs are designed for video surveillance and therefore should be properly tested before being released!. I suggest that Reolink include a function for exporting the configuration file, in order to facilitate the reinstallation of the program in case of malfunction by installing a previous version of the app or client without going crazy or wasting time especially when there are several cameras to configure . I tried, but Reolink never reads or listens to users. Reolink just sells.
Hi, someone has tested this new version? Works good or not?Kindly Regards
Reolink only cares about selling, and always releases software and apps full of bugs and errors. I have written it many times, that before releasing an app or program they must be tested. But it is the usual hasty incompetents who always create problems for users in this way
@mamymam2013_465350299701478 If you are using UID to connect you must go through Reolink servers which will limit your bandwidth and may force fluent stream. I bypassed Reolink servers by switching off UID and using the DDNS service feature in my router to directly connect to the cameras.
Thank you , very much for your reply, but in other version of the windows client was possible choose the quality and then stay on memory of the client when you change camera, and not only if camera stay on the same network. DDNS? A tutorial will be a good idea.
@mrmoorey On my notebook I have seen a slight improvement. But yes it is not as in v8.12.1. They have changed something in their player.
Thank you Joseph.I did a test and installed the new version on a laptop. And they call this quality improvement? But where? The standard low setting is terrible even on a small laptop screen. I have been a Reolink customer for 2 years and in the beginning Fiona and others intervened and listened to customers' suggestions and complaints. Not now. But how can anyone who tests the program think that those who have multiple cameras spend their time correcting the live quality every time they check another camera if it is not present on the same network? This is pure madness! I don't think that inserting this choice is so problematic because in old posts it was actually written as a correction and the choice with subsequent memorization of the quality type was inserted in more than one version of the Windows client. So why go back? Listen to your customers and stop doing your own thing! I'm tired of writing emails to support and in exchange receiving the usual and useless false promise to report to the developers, which is just a joke. Reolink wake up, listen to customers, thank you!
@joseph_1979 Hi Joseph and thank you for your reply. But really improved quality or not on clear mode?
New Windows client is available V8.14.2. Have only seen listed as bug fixes and improvements to user experience.
The fear of updating arises from the fact that the versions almost always get worse rather than better. In any case, it would be useful to publish the list of fixed bugs and improvements and changes. You can't play heads or tails every time a new version comes out, then cross your fingers and hope it goes well. I have written many times to make suggestions and propose changes, but I believe that the only thing that interests Reolink is only the business, the rest doesn't matter. Meanwhile, the live preview quality is terrible and to have decent quality you have to change it every time for every camera except those in the same network, and when you have a few cameras this is frustrating and demanding. To say how closed-minded and stubborn they are in Reolink, this is demonstrated by the fact that they do not leave the customer free to decide what type of quality they want rather than imposing it as they do now. I'm like Giuseppe and for the moment I don't want to be a beta tester for the umpteenth time and I'm waiting for someone to try the version and tell us how it goes.
@joseph_1979 Hi Joseph 8.14.0 installed on 2 pc one windows 10, another with windows 11. For the moment works great and no issue with control icons.
@joseph_1979 Thank you. I will await before install it.
@joseph_1979 Joseph, thank you. I hope that sooner or later they will be convinced that it is right to include this quality choice option. If you can, you who have direct contacts, ask again, or at least we can open a post where those who want this option vote for it and perhaps then Reolink will be forced to comply. You didn't tell me the reason why you recommended version 8.11 but advised against version 8.14 for the moment. You told me about an icon problem, but I didn't understand.
@mamymam2013_465350299701478 Penso di si ma che cosa puo' far!! I am on v8.12.1 and working fine for me. But I saw people who reverted to v8.11.0 which seems to be more stable. Note that 8.8.4 is a 32 bit client and Reolink are no longer compiling their client for 32bit OS.
Hi Joseph, now following your advice I am trying the v8.11.0 version exactly as you recommended. Unfortunately, based on their choice, the low quality of vision can be changed, but it does not remain stored unless the camera is on the same network. In any case Reolink should think that many users like me have a 28 inch 4k monitor and the low quality on a professional monitor of this type is terrible. I understand that they want to eliminate any slowdowns or problems, but allowing the user to choose and possibly change it to his liking should not be a problem for Reolink to insert this setting. Yesterday I did not understand that problem you refer to the new version of the Windows client that Reolink has published, but did not report. What to say, excellent products, but poor software. Imagine that to have an updated firmware (a 511wa) I had to write to support because they themselves told me they were sorry because often what is available for download is not always updated on the site as it should be.
@joseph_1979 I know that is a 32 bit client but is only one stable where I can choose kind of quality stream, and then client memorize it. Other version each cam you must change and don't stay on memory. I don't knoe why Reolink must decide for me! Other new version I have test it but has always the problem of can't choose quality strem and also receive signal of the cam is not immediatly. So much people write about it but Reolink don't solve.
@joseph_1979 Thank you. But Reolink never test before publish. I'm a litte tired. I use 8.8.4 because each new version is always a disaster! On Android app you see immediatly the cam, but not on windows client. Reolink must solve also this.
@joseph_1979 In windows client is possible email setup menu in italian is "Nome mittente" in english i think Name of the sender or similary. I have seen also that today is disposable new windows client version 8.14.0. Do you have test it?Kindly RegardsMarco
I discovered 2 bugs on the android application. The first concerns the email sending setting. The sender name field is not present (very important if you have multiple cameras to better distinguish the emails received) and the other is the impossibility of deleting the timelapse from the appropriate section of the app. The only system that works is formatting the micro SD. My app version is 4.41.0.4.2023
