Reolinkers, we are releasing Client v8.12.
The Client adopts a grayscale release strategy so that the update time will differ in different regions.
What's new:- Add adaptation to new products
- Adjust the position of the stream switch button for preview and playback
- Optimize the interface of "Client Settings", "Device login" and "Forget Password"
- Optimize character input verification and unify it with NVR and APP
- Optimize the automatic update pop-up window strategy
- Optimize the strategy of automatic disconnection of battery devices when previewing cuts to playback.
- Add FTP TEST failure message

@reolink-lorenz Suggestion: I would have rather included the icons on the same bar where there is the download to allow more viewing area to the playback. Yes, one can have the full view.

But why no Mac update? what is happening with Mac, Windows seems to get all the new features?
-
@reolink-lorenz When I clicked "Update", a message came up saying that system files were missing, and offered to download an update from 2010! I clicked "ok", but then a box popped up asking where I wanted to install the files.
Not Good. -
@crimp-on_62210811129 These are the DirectX9 libraries. Normally they are installed under system where there are the DirectX11 libraries.

@crimp-on_62210811129 This is the redistribution package for DirectX. Just download to a folder, unzip and execute the dxsetup.exe. Yes some dlls dates back to 2010.
-
@maxm Our team is working to fix some issues on the mac version. The refined version for Mac will be released within a month. Stay tuned.
-
@joseph_1979 Thanks for the suggestion. I will forward it to the team.
-
@crimp-on_62210811129 These are the cab files.
-
@reolink-lorenz Hey, great work! A further suggestion: Ad a "URL Action" option (below the "Surveillance > Push" option) where to insert an URL (http).
And then the same Schedule menu as at the other options.
This would be great to - by far - much better integrate the Reolink webcams into existing IoT smart home solutions no matter from which brand.
I.e. this would enable the possibility to trigger a IoT relay to switch a light when the cam would identify a person etc.
I am sure this would be a solution a lot of people are waiting for!
Thanks upfront! -
@das-dos_208145718501556 I wholly agree in the absence of MQTT, matter and IFTTT. This is quite simple to implement.

@reolink-lorenz
Hello,
I have exactly the same problem as some users on the Windows application (V 8.12.1) of PTZ button only on the screens for old cameras type E1ZOOM IPC_515SD6 and IPC_515BSD6. The E1 ZOOM type IPC_523SD8 cameras all have the menu with all the buttons. On the other hand, upon opening all windows are always in low resolution. You have to reset the parameter each time.
Thank you again for adding a Password for opening the application.

@reolink-lorenz My Windows App will not connect to any of my cameras after upgrading to 8.12. I tried going back to 8.11 and it still fails to connect to any of the cameras. My iOS App works fine and so does the App on my Mac Laptop. Help!
-
@user_705343437246662_705343437246662 Do you get connected and no video? If this is the case then you need to install the DirectX redist(June 2010). If, however, you don't connect then delete the camera from the client and add it using the UID.
-
I have just downloaded the new Client version which is v8.12.1. When opening it, I get a warning message saying that it is missing DirectX files. Click the link and you will receive an ancient (2010) version of DirectX drivers that will not install on a Windows 11 machine.

@pierre-gielen_288801745879289 copy the cab files to a folder and run the dxsetup.exe. it will install the dll of DirectX files at C:\Windows\System32 (and C:\Windows\SysWOW64 on a 64-bit copy of Windows)
-
@pierre-gielen_288801745879289
I have the same issue (Windows 10), downgraded to 8.11 for the moment.
I'm not going to install that legacy DirectX stuff.
-
Doesn't connect to my NVR. Have to view playback first then it connects. 8.12.1 also the same.
I really don't understand why literally every single release fixes 1 or 2 things at best yet brakes more and more.
I think when I first started with your systems in January, the software was actually fine yet every release after than has added more and more issues.Reply QuoteShare1- Share this Post

PTZ and other controls are still missing unless you do the work-around each time you open the Client App. Back to v8.8.5 where it worked perfectly.
-
This doesn't work. After installing, I just get a spinning cog and the feed never loads. I have a C1 Pro. I know it's working as my phone app works. Going back to 8.8.5 works fine too.

@decko999_126212170571978 So from 8.8.5 you upgraded to 8.12.1? And what Windows are you running? Is it 32 or 64 bit? Versions 8.12.1 is 64 bit client.
-
On 8.12.1 we get no images even though the client says that it is connecting to the cameras.
We didn't get any warnings about missing directx files, but from what others are posting here, I guess that is the problem.
Fortunately I found 8.8.5 on an old website page, downloaded it, reinstalled, and now everything is working fine again.
Obviously it would be good to have the latest version - but we do need it to work for us! -
Hello,
Same problem as mentioned here with version 8.12 or 8.12.1, there are no longer any camera images in the dashboard.
I'd like to get back to version 8.11, which worked fine. Do you have a link?Reply QuoteShare0- Share this Post

@jjacq Windows 10 or 11? Did you use the DirectX tool to repair the DX libraries? DX 9 is required.
-
@joseph_1979 Windows 10 Pro. I did try to repair it, but to not success.

Client v8.12.1
Everytime I change camera or "layout" the quality is reset to low.
It would be really nice to have the app save the selected quality.Reply QuoteShare0- Share this Post

@fredrik_443121366618298 It is designed to work like that if you are accessing the cameras from an external network. Under this scenario, the media flows through P2P relay servers provided by Azure/AWS and so the bandwidth is limited and incur charges.
-
@joseph_1979 So would it be possible for the client software to detect if you are on a local network and use your saved preference if this is the case?
-
Unfortunately, 8.12.1 is not worthy of a release, IMO.
I find it crashes often while viewing recorded video and selecting segments for download. -
These releases are just simply getting worse and worse.
Reolink just stop. Start listening to your customers instead of putting out rubbish.
Give us back full control over our cameras, you can start by reinstating the `Clear` mode in the Live View. -
A company like yours should do automatic tests on software features, so that while implementing new features you avoid breaking others.
8.12.1 works fine to me except (as the lastest 2/3 versions) i cannot view the Clear/High stream anymore on any cam via my nvr.
I have some RLC-811A, some RLC-1212A and two Dual 2, but every Clear/High stream is just a frozen image. -
I have the same issue as others. Latest desktop release is broken and now my camera feeds do not load. How do I get back to previous Rev?

@joseph_1979
Life saver, bro!
-
When I open this newest client, my two cameras that previously connected and came on within a few seconds with the previous version now say Not Connected for about 10-15 seconds, then Failed, then Connecting, and then they connect and the video comes on. It's always the same pattern when I open this version of the client. Not Connected for a while, then Failed for a while, then Connecting, and then Connected. From the time the client opens on my screen until the time the video appears now takes about 25 seconds. This never happened with the previous version. It was probably 10 seconds or less. I have Windows 10.

8.12.1 and 8.12.0-nui will not show E1 Outdoor cameras any longer. I reverted to 8.55 and 8.11.0 and both now take a very long time (+5-7 minutes) to show remote E1 Outdoor cams. I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled (deleting the /roaming/reolink folder as well).
This is a bad look on QA for Reolink.
Any more ideas?Reply QuoteShare0- Share this Post

@nelmediaconsulting_653281431416898 Did you install the DirectX Redist (June 2010)? I am using the 8.12.1 and have no issue with any camera including the E1 OD.
-
@joseph_1979 It did not prompt me to install old DirectX software during any of the installs, even the fresh install.
Where can I get these old drivers?
