Hello, any news regarding "answering calls from the doorbell" ?
I just purchased the 5MP WIFI doorbell. I have the latest versions of the app and firmware. I can't find this feature. -
@user_792781723140271_792781723140271 fw still not yet released. We are all waiting for this to check out.
-
I have 4.43 version, and in my configuration I don't have this options and app says that I have the last firmware version. Please don't tell you have something done when you don't.

@hinhnguyen_790044693926118 whats your FW Version? you might not yet have the new fw yet that we all have been waiting for.
question for others. have anyone received the new fw yet? if so please tell us all.I got contact with Reolink support about the FTP bug on my doorbell, they sent me a new firmware which fixed the bug.
I believe the firmware I got is built on the one which included the new call feature and not yet released.

I have updated the Reolink App & Doorbell Wifi version to the latest firmware.
But I am unable to get the videocall option to work.
Also the new Push notification settings in the Reolink App are not saved after enabling them.
Anyone else having more luck?Reply QuoteShare0- Share this Post

@ruben-vanlommel_60754004429 I suggest you to email support on support @ reolink . com (delete spaces).
-
@ruben-vanlommel_60754004429, there is a new firmware version available (29 feb). You can download it and update manually. Or wait until it becomes available for the automatic upgrade.
-
I don't see "push notification" option in App 4.43. How do you get it enabled?

@reuven-goldenberg_36887769641 It's under camera menu. What you showed is the application menu.
-
@joseph_1979 Ok, turned on but getting zero notifications. I had no problem with notification before this update...
-
Today I changed from WiFi to Ethernet after a full reset, and coincidentally or not, the doorbell notification setting saves.
I can't tell whether it works or not though, because connecting via a switch has almost completely killed connectivity! -
Could someone possibly post a link to the previous version of the firmware? I want to see if it is the new one that's causing my issues and as it's a new doorbell I don't have any earlier pak files.
Thanks!Reply QuoteShare0- Share this Post

You need to email support on support @ reolink . com (delete spaces). There was an unofficial site archiving firmware of all Reolink cameras but has been removed. So the only way is to get it from support.
-
@joseph_1979
Thanks... Yes, I realise that's the 'proper' way, and tried asking via support chat, but they suggest it will be 24hrs before replying.
Seems a bit dumb that they don't include the last prior version on the download links.... rolling back is a very frequent requirement, and Reolink don't seem any better than average at doing adequate pre-release testing.
At the moment I'm on the 11th email exchange with Support (starting 7th March) to try and establish why the doorbell camera won't communicate over ethernet with the router if there is a switch inbetween. -
We have been telling them to have at least the last two firmware but so far this has not been materialised. It's their decision. We are customers telling them how and where to improve.
As for the switch, it should work as long as the camera and the client are on the same VLAN. -
@joseph_1979
Indeed it should.... This is a simple home network. No VLAN. An unmanaged switch on an otherwise direct line to the router. I've tried two switches and one old router operating as a switch. Only the latest switch connects at all, but drops the connection after a few seconds. Rinse and repeat every so often. Makes no difference if there is no other client on the switch. Anything else that I do put on the switch works fine (Inverter for solar stats and a laptop for speedtest, so far) -
Check that DHCP is enabled on the router.
You may assign a static ip to the camera and PC and connect them to switch. Disconnect switch from router and check again.
Is the camera POE? -
@joseph_1979 Thanks for your suggestion.. DHCP is active. I'll await the easy firmware rollback though before trying anything else. It's not POE, and works OK over WiFi, but signal to the location is weak, hence (attempted) move to ethernet.
-
@joseph_1979
Reverting firmware didn't change the issue so I connected the doorbell via a short ethernet cable directly to the LAN port on my laptop (no switch). Set the laptop to the same IP address (diff host No), established the 'unidentified network', but got no connection at the Reolink client. Tried pinging and get 'destination host unreachable' with no packet loss (i.e. not sent / no route). My networkink knowledge is minimal, so I can't figure out why. (Firewall is off). ipconfig shows no default gateway...is that right? -
-
@joseph_1979 That's exactly what I have done
By turning off ivP6 (which I believe the cameras do not support) I can now ping the camera, but still no connection.
When working via my main PC and router the camera is dicoverable on the network, so I guess it's domething in the laptop LAN config... -
If it is working on another PC then the camera and network are fine. So there is something in your other PC.
Assign a private ip not yet taken up and add the gateway ip as the router gateway on your PC. -
@joseph_1979
Thanks again.. I may or may not be quite following your 2nd sentence.. Nothing is active on this laptop other than the ethernet adapter, so the only IP in use is the one set as the ipv4 address of the PC, 192.168.1.100. The address of the camera is 192.168.1.103. ip config only lists the 100 address. What do you mean by gateway IP in this context? I understand (ish) that a default gateway only comes into play if moving data from one LAN to another (via a router)? -
From the other PC or Camera, get the subnet mask (255.255.255.0) and the gateway (192.168.1.254) and add them to the IP config of this pc. Then ping the gateway with ping 192.168.1.254 or whatever is set in your router.
Networking is simple.... complexity is when troubleshooting Telcos networks with lots of protocols. -
Progress today: but describing it seems to breach the community guidelines somewhere, and I can't see where.
-
In short, the problem lies in the new cat6 cable to the garage, passes test but maybe a high res contact..
-
So the cable connecting the PC. But you could have easily dealt with this by surfing on the Internet. So a connectivity issue. Sometimes the connector are defective. I did hundreds of RJ45 and sometimes do get this issue.
Cut it and terminate it again. -
Yes, I cannot add URLs, Emails, and sometimes even photos. Words are also censored. Je ne sais pas!!!
-
I have to own up that it turns out to be my fault. Terminating the very heavy duty cable ,even with a 2-part RJ45 was a pig, as the individual wires are very tight in the 8 holes, and despite my best efforts while pushing them in 2 had crossed. When I used the cable tester I only looked at the lights at one end...didn't realise that the remote end could be displaying something different. Still worked for internet browsing, speed test and the camera, except when adding the switch. Live and learn.
