Mostly improvements in Reolink software - such as better marking of motion trigger, improvements to recording of motion events, improvements in image clarity and quality, not necessarily more pixels. Reolink already has great hardware with so much potential for software improvements.

I would like to see an NVR with more input/outputs. Why, because of legacy hard wired security systems. Currently I have all of my doors and garage doors hooked up to the 36 ports NVR which has the most input/outputs but I could add all of my windows, etc if the NVR had more!
and while you are at it why separate the cameras from the security system environment? Go ahead and add water sensors, temperature sensors, smoke alarm, CO2...0View 0 replies-

On an iPad or iPhone app you with a zoom camera (ex RCL-811A) you can zoom in or out, but there's no way to return to the previous zoom level. The app only provides a "+" or "-" button with no numerical value. It's critical to return back to the previous zoom level if you have a Non-Detection Zone set. There should be numeric zoom values and a Monitor Point like the PTZ cameras. If not set back to the proper zoom level you could be blocking out critical security zones.

I have a battery camera with a sd card and is connected to wifi. The camera records when motion is detected and sends me a notification (email\text) to alert me. I can then review the footage. All is great however when there's a power failure my wifi is out (no power at modem\router), hence recording still occurs BUT no notification. Is it possible for the camera to detect if wifi is available and if not simply queue up the notification and try again later once wifi signal is detected again? Note: It may be possible to make use of a ups battery backup device for modem\router but was looking for a camera solution.

My NVR is tucked away in a secure and difficult to reach location. So almost all of my interaction with the NVR is via the web GUI. It would be good have all of the features and configuration options that are available when using a monitor directly connected to the NVR made available in the web GUI.

@joseph_1979 Good luck to the burglars, my home network consists of over 60 ethernet cables going to locations all over the house and garage. These cables were all installed when the house was at framing stage so they are all in wall runs. Pretty much no way identify which cable goes to the NVR or to trace the cable so I think my NVR location is secure.
Yes, 60 cables probably seems like a lot but every room has network outlets and there are many cables that are still coiled up in the wall at locations where I thought I might possibly need an outlet one day. And every outlet has a spare cable still in the wall just in case the main cable ever fails. Where I worked I was able to get ethernet cable for free so I thought it was better to run cable everywhere while I had access to the bare house frame rather than regret it later. I also took photos of every wall in every room while there was no wall covering in place. So that I had a record of all plumbing, electrical and communications pipe and cable locations and where they ran. Taking all the photos took maybe 20 minutes and over the years has been invaluable in planning for drilling, adding network outlets and even being able to pull back a spare cable to provide a network outlet at a location I never imagined I would need. For example my Reolink POE doorbell.
