Hi everyone, Thank you for providing us with the feedback on the auto-tracking in the previous beta test. We have optimized the tracking vehicle tracking feature and muti-target tracking strategy in this new beta firmware. We will also apply the new tracking strategy to other PTZ cameras like TrackMix after testing. Are you ready to be the bug hunter? Download the beta firmware via https://bit.ly/3Lfm6L7. Models: RLC-823A & RLC-523WA A sneak peek of the tracking functions development plan! (Apply to RLC-823A, RLC-523A, and TrackMix.)Tracking limit: Limit the tracking range to avoid the wall block or protect privacy.Tracking schedule: Determine the tracking schedule to reduce unnecessary disturbance. Thanks to all the users that provide us with the new feature ideas. Stay tuned!
I tried the new 1169 firmware for a couple days. The auto tracking improved some. It did better following me walking underneath it at a slow pace. It could not keep up with me walking a bit faster. At night it had a glitch. At night with IR on, when I got notifications the timeline did not show the recorded events sometimes, no video at all yet notification and recording were both on. The playback icons were all blue, on, any motion, person, vehicle. During daylight this did not happen. I uninstalled the 1169 and reinstalled the older firmware 956 for now.
Tested this out with one of my 823 cams and tracking does seem to be better, but only when completely zoomed out. I usually keep my camera zoomed in by about 20% because it's mounted high enough up that I want a bit of zoom for faces, license plates, etc.I chose not to reset all settings (which really messed things up last time), but recordings are being properly marked/tracked by type (which is what broke with the last beta). It still seems to randomly return to the monitor point. I have it configured to return after 300s but I suspect this is on some sort of global timer rather than 300s after the tracking/motion has stopped. I didn't have it return to the monitor point in the middle of tracking me walking around but it did do so a couple of times when I had only been standing still for 5-10 seconds.PTZ speed seems way off, too. Everything above about 8 was roughly the same speed (fast click on a direction arrow in the Reolink Mac client moved about the same distance). I had to turn it down to about 5 (out of 64) in order to get any sort of fine control. Will report back after running this for a few days.
Hello all,RLC-523WA I have bought this camera to guard a private road , the motion detection is realy very good but the speed off auto focus is very slow so i have no sharp pictures how can i solve this? It seems the camere is not fast enough with auto focus?
Just joined the forum, so excuse the lack of memory of previous topics.Just installed a RLC-823A, with stock firmware, and came here looking for tracking topics. Will install this test firmware and send feeback, but was wondering if there is any prospect in the future of also applying zoom to tracking, at least within a fixed range? My application is more trivial than most, I am deploying continually updated "cat cams" for my garden to spy on my furballs. I want a reasonably wide view in general, but then in one of them does something interesting/dumb (like jump up the small tree) it would be cute to zoom in on the action, so to speak.I am sure that there may be more serious uses for this too. Only negative, which is already an issue, is the auto-focus changes it would trigger.
Updated to this beta firmware as I was having issue`s with my 823a not tracking me as I walked below it and round the corner. ( Camera is mounted on a corner) After the download I had no tracking at all and moving the camera manually had a 10 second delay. I have reverted back to the June 2022 update, the manual movement delay has gone but I still have no tracking even with the detection zone on maximum and all motion/car/pet/ person boxes highlighted.
I'm new to the forum, just installed a Wifi TrackMix, RLC-523WA, and two Argus 3 Pro's, and really enjoying the results! (We decided on Reolink after Arlo deemed our functioning cameras were at their End Of Life (EOL), turns out it was Arlo's EOL with this family!!)I still need to get a few more cameras that will patrol and track, so that has me currently going with the 823A / 523WA but hoping that the Pet Detection will be added to them soon, even the Pet detection beta version which seems to work great on our TrackMix. We have the 523WA down at our barn and it would be perfect if it had Pet Detection capability to identify unwelcome animal intruders at night when the camera is in patrol mode. Thanks for great camera systems and real customer support!!
