When someone presses the button on the doorbell, yes i receive a notification, but it isnt diferent from the other reolink notifications (or other apps for that matter), just the normal sound for a notification and the popup.
With the RING doorbell if someone presses i actually get a Ringing phone call notification that sets it apart from other notifications.
Do i have to have the Cloud Plan to have a different notification that i can actually diferentiate from the normal ones?
The way the notifications are now, its really easy to miss if someone is at the door pressing the button. It has to be like a phonecall.
If im away from home, with every notification i get (emails/social networks/messages) most likely I wont notice if someone is at the door because it just doesnt really alert in a very obvious way.

@gajotnt_202336444158149 on top of that i really cant understand why they didnt implement the functionality to chime on amazon echo devices although advertising alexa compatibility.. very disapointing.

Ready this thread and this is exactly my problem also. Impressed with the value/performance of my 12 camera dual nvr system so I decided to move away from my Arlo doorbell to get local subscription free recording and alerts. My Arlo doorbell called me with the screen over riding any other open apps so I could not miss it. I get lots if alerts and will certainly not be aware that someone has rang the doorbell. I guess I should have waited until version 2. I'm am most disapointed that a Reolink representative hasn't responded to this thread. Everyone expects a call screen that we can't miss but we get crickets instead -
@user_710049033429221_710049033429221 As a customer I was one of the first to have asked for a SIP call as the push message notifications being implemented are easy to ignore. Even though by the time you press the message notification to open the application and go to talk...by that time some visitors might have already disappeared. Hope this is implemented ASAP. But I am confident that they will add it.
@Lorenz Any indication of when this shall be available? -
@joseph_1979 Thank you all for the suggestion. Our team is adding a special notification sound option for users to distinguish doorbell button pressing notifications from normal camera detection ones. This feature will be available on app version 4.40, which is expected to be released in late September this year.
When the app is released, I will definitely publish the news to let you know. Stay tuned, Reolinkers! -
@reolink-lorenz The sound to be selected is included as a parameter in the push message notification and subsequently the appl can provide the appropriate tone. In my opinion a SIP call is of outmost important and so I kindly ask you to push your development team to implement SIP call. Duration of notification is 1 to 2 sec while a call can last till unanswered (60s) on most mobile networks.

my2centsHey, you might need to consider getting the Cloud Plan. The Cloud Plan could provide a ringing phone call notification similar to the RING doorbell, making it easier for you to differentiate from other notifications

I agree 100%! I need my phone to ring with the option to jump straight into the video so I can see what is going on.

hello,
i received today and its just so ridiculous!!!! its not a doorbell but just a camera whis a button who ring a chime!!! absolutely not professional from Reolink to sell that SH..
i have a doorbell that cost me 25€ and call me on phone and is totaly integrate into Home Assistant...but its a wifi version so its not working very well...too far from the nearest AP.
It totaly unacceptable to sell a video doorbell that doesnt make a phone call, the ridiculous push message, you wouldnt see it, of course!!! you have not eyes screw on your displayphone all the day...Reply QuoteShare2- Share this Post

@olive_608518832963622 that's the first implementation of Reolink doorbell. SIP calling will come too hopefully.

I hope so. Totday I received my Reolink video doorbell and was also dissapointed. No Phone ring options.

I need it
without a phone call it is simply not usable. when can I expect the update? -
Any response Reolink? Everyone absolutely expects a phone call that is not buried in our camera alerts. Unusable like this

I've had the doorbell for a few weeks now with the Android app, I would agree with the above comments that currently on my phones there is only one type of push notification whether it's a visitor pushing the doorbell button or clouds passing on another camera, which are mostly ignored anyway. A visitor pushing the doorbell button definitely needs to be a separate notification so the phone can be set to play a different sound so it would get immediate attention, ideally with a jump to the doorbell video.
Thanks! -
welcome to my hell.... i use to have a laview one halo(it was a rebranded db1 etc ) my old door bell use to open the app with a "voip call" ready so i can talk wit the person in front on it use to ring a lot so i cant miss it even with it in my pocket....
another lack feature a ring history register.... if for some kind of reason i miss the call i use to see a full list with date time and a picture saved in the sd of my doorbel so i can see who was the one ringing and when it happend....
the reaolink make loose my time searching if someone came to my home.... while im far away.....

@ss4sgoku_239593250332868 I can understand you. I did ask for VOIP callouts and to be fully compliant to Profile T (two way audio). I forward lots of ideas and suggestions. It's their strategy of what to implement and prioritised.
Having a push notification instead you will surely miss it. Hope they will prioritise it.
