I also have trouble and can't use the "PTZ" function. How did you go back the previous version of app ?

This morning 8.10.2 announced, "New Software Available" (8.10.3). Did the update, program restarted and again said, "New Software Available"
The spot light feature appears when mousing over a Live Feed. (Have no cameras with Zoom feature.)Reply QuoteShare0- Share this Post

@crimp-on_62210811129 So in 8.10.3 they brought back the full screen icon. However, it still has the issue of the stream resolution defaulting to FLUENT irrespective of what resolution you have set it previously. This occurs only if the pc running the client is connected on a network other than that to which the cameras are connected to.

@joseph_1979 i agree and i am so angry at the moment...these are easy problems to fix and this update should not of been released till it was tested across plenty of sample machines......your lucky lol....my problem is my images are now low res and terribly pixelated...on 4k cameras at that lmao ...its a joke and i have posted 10 times across various topics ...and DM directly but not even an explaination
-
@nacster_527951104307346 If it was one of the many applications I have written I have already fixed it. I don't know what to say and can fully understand you.
Try to roll back to a version which has less issues. And if you don't have it then email support to forward you a copy.
8.8.5 is a 32 bit application and this is not deleted when upgrading to 8.10.3. Just run the reolink.exe in C:\Program Files (x86) but you have to add each camera using the UID as the configuration is placed in a different location. -
@joseph_1979 Thankyou i will try and find the right rollback version

@joseph_1979 yep that 8.8.5 is the one that turn my lovely 4k cameras into a 320x240 pixelated pile of garbage lol.....i think i am running 8.7.2 now after searching abit and it runs fine for me....but i hope your not missing my point in general.....this isnt a minor software update problem...some people rely on cctv security an consider it very important and to lose visual clarity when doing an update is ....i think a serious issue ...thanks for the info but given the software problems with this update there should of been a post in the anouncements section to explain this and...that would have had mine and others respect more....this isnt an attack on yourself....but it is VERY frustrating...that a moderator has had to deal with it...again thanks

@nacster_527951104307346 As stated I fully agree but I am a customer like you trying to provide support based on my engineering and software skills. And of course this is security and should be given high priority and dealt with asap. In your case I suggest you to revert to the 8.7.2 which according to members is one of the most stable.
-
@joseph_1979 I paid someone to set this thing up and you are now saying that to get it to work I will have to pay again as I have not got a clue what you mean by "UID". I know the guy who set it up did NOT have to add each camera one by one. Reolink borked this and THEY should issue software to fix it and as Nacaster says at least answer our concerns. Disgusting attitude from them!
-
@trelower2_471448109822110 I can understand your frustration. I am trying to help as a member of the community. I did the upgrade and found issues which I reported to support. I am still awaiting a solution for the stream resolution setting.

Horrible, Now I have to add 15 cameras that are at remote sites IF I want to go back cause of the mess up from ReoLink.. Poor Customer Service and QA. -
@railfan-arizona_485965826351268 So do not run the reolink.exe in the C/Program Files (x86) if you have the reolink_setup_8.8.5. During installation it should copy the configuration.

@rick_499100824453285 you need to use an earlier version i think the mod has a link....:) Reolink are away for 1 year so expect an answer soon....sorry but im so pissed right now about it ...and what its has cost me

@nacster_1969
check if you do have 2 versions installed. I uninstalled the old version as both were there.
now everything works great in the new client on all my cameras.

Yes please !!! I am extremely disappointed with this update. I have multiple monitors and until this update been able to open the program and drag the window to the secondary monitor and snap it to the top to fill the monitor. That is gone. 6 of 9 cameras need to now be told what the password is manually 1 by 1. This is an absolute brand changing issue. Now for the worst part, it takes about 10 minutes from opening the program until I see any cameras feed. Absolute disastrous update in my view! was any testing even performed?
WHERE DID THE PTZ CONTROL GO !!!!! GET IT TOGETHER !!! -
Thanks to Reolink not testing their software and the moderators on here have no clue how to fix things since ReoLink can't give them the tools or resources to help. I wish I never invested so much into this company. When I can, I will be switching all my cameras to something better with less issues!

@railfan-arizona_485965826351268 It is rather difficult to test all possible scenarios and some problems emerged when installed on different systems having different configuration. But rest assure that the supplier will definitely do his/her utmost to correct these issues if found to be from his/her side. In my case I had no issue to install and run the 8.10.x clients on two notebooks. No java errors, no crashes. The issues which I found out so far are related to the stream resolution and I have notified support accordingly.
Tools are exclusively available to the employees and we are customers like you but with our engineering and software skills we try to help wherever we can. We did help a lot and have been praised.

There also now appears to be no indication of recordings under the 'date' in the calendar, there used to be a blue dot. You can only see if any recordings have been made by going into download. Still haven't fixed my last reported issues when the SD is formatted.
Poor show Reolink!!
New update 8.10.3 fails
