@joseph_1979 Aside from the updates mentioned in the original post, we mainly add support of some coming-soon products to the app. Also, we have added user feedback survey and improved the QR code scanning experience in this update.

@reolink-lorenz Thanks for the update. Members are still hoping that one day the 5MP cams have the 16:9 aspect ratio in single live view.

@reolink-lorenz Once again we have the issue of the notification sound. It is taking the default notification sound and not the one selected. Please ask dev team to fix it and provide an updated client.

@joseph_1979 Thanks for the feedback. May I know the previous version you were using before updating to v4 .39? Is it v4.38? And have you cleared the app memories? It would also be nice that you provide your phone brand and model name. Thank you.

@reolink-lorenz yes made the same mistake as the previous version when initially released. but later it was corrected. I don't understand why they made the same mistake of only playing the Samsung notification sound again. my equipment is the s23+. I select another notification sound, but it doesn't play... hope they fix it

@ramms_119 Totally in agreement. I have been leading a team of programmers and we share the project (code) in real time. We rigorously test the application before releasing it to ensure that existing and new functions work as expected. We used to dedicate substantial time in testing but it really paid off. Excellent reputation and trust.
Sharing code among developers has many benefits, including time and money saved and increased innovation. There are so many tools out there to choose from. -
@reolink-lorenz I noticed a huge improvement.
Now when we are connected to the cameras outside the house, external wifi or mobile data, whenever the application is minimized, when opening the cameras they play right away. in app 4.38 and earlier, you had to restart playback.
Only this app 4.39 needs to correct the situation of choosing the notification sound. because the selected sound is not playing.
otherwise the app is very good. I love the 1:1 ratio on the 5mpx. GOOD JOB! -

@reolink-lorenz If you have a beta version and you want us to test, feel free to either email it or add its url. We are here to support you.
You can add a different sound in the push message notification forwarded to the smartphone. But in my opinion people prefer to have a call and able to answer it and talk to the visitor as is being done by your competitors. This should be the final objective. -

Hi, I am using TrackMIx, all function is awesome but the notification and playback are hard to use.
People who use cameras often focus on how the app notification them about an event, and how easily they can track/view it on their phone at any time.
Here is some of my idea and hope Reolink can update the improve them:
1. First is about the notification, it will be awesome if the notification can also show the snapshot picture which makes the notification event trigger. (Rich notification)
2. Second, when clicking on the notification, it should jump into the playback with the time location is where the notification pushed. Right now it jumps to I live view and have to find playback with a lot of videos in these. (costs a lot of time to figure out what happen in this notification).
3. Third, adding a new function is A listview history notification that includes event trigger, time pushed, and snapshot image. And when clicking on the listview item, it will jump to the playback video (at the time pushed location).
4. Finally, improve the playback interface. I use the 24/7 record, so there is a lot of video 5 min in there. Even though the video has signs for trigger events (motion, human, cat, pet..) but looking for a 10-15s event in 5 min also a little hard. My idea to improve it is to join all non-event trigger into one (of course on file can still separate), and the trigger event should be a 1-2min section. The time bar can be scaled for a more detailed time. When the user drap to change time in the time bar, the main live view also changes in real-time. ( When drap action in Handel, just load a snapshot or one timelapse frame in the video file or load the video in the slowest resolution for the fastest and show it in real-time with the point in the time bar. When the user drap is released, the app starts to stream the video in normal resolution). The best example of my idea can be found in another company ("The Ring app").
"Ring" has an awesome user-interface app but their device quality and their plan can not competition with "Reolink". If Reolink can improve the app equally or better than them, I believed Reolink will be the best choice in the marketplace.Reply QuoteShare3- Share this Post

@laphunhon_689657095459000 I suggest you to send these requests to Reolink support. They prioritise features in accordance to the number of requests received.
We have already proposed these features.
Rich notification is awesome with action. This, of course, requires further processing at their application servers and may require a subscription. This is being done for WIFI doorbell.
I recall old Android clients which when clicking on the notification , it used to take you to the recorded video but I cannot understand why this has been removed. We also requested that when a user select the playback, the client should point to the last clip.
Event logging is required for cases where the object has been detected by various cameras and you want to go through in accordance to the sequence of events.
Motion tagging is under development and we hope to see it soon. Most probably this will be on new cameras. Maybe Lorenz can provide further details on when this shall be available -
@laphunhon_689657095459000 Thank you very much for the suggestions. The rich notification feature works with cloud subscription only and Reolink focuses more on local storage security. That's why we cannot make rich notifications available on our cameras.
In terms of the rest suggestions on the app notifications and playback experience improvements, I have forwarded them to our team.

In Version 4.38 I could login into the cloud by just clicking Cloud ---> Cloud Storage. In Version 4.39 you need to know your admin (user) password to first connect your cloud to the REOLINK App on the phone. I can see where this might be more secure if the REOLINK App is used by other users without ADMIN permission. However, REOLINK should have informed the ADMIN users about the cloud permission change so they had the password available, if necessary.
Also, in Version 4.39, I sometimes get the login screen just by opening the app. If I close (click X) this screen, it seems to work fine. I assume this "feature" is just a bug.Reply QuoteShare0- Share this Post

@reolink_0984_633827804586074 I think this is the login for the cloud. I did enter the cloud credentials and then it didn't appear again.

@joseph_1979 I can enter the cloud credentials but now (Version 4.39) each time the phone power is cycled or the app is closed and re-opened (after a long time) I need to re-enter the credentials/admin password to re-link with the cloud. The previous version 4.38 saved the cloud credentials, like the cameras password, and I never again had to enter them. I have tested this on 4 different phones and once the app is closed or the phone power is cycled the cloud credentials must be re-entered to reestablish the cloud storage link.

I have written to your support many times, but always gets asked to try different app versions for some reason..
Just wanted to let you know (and hope you guys will fix) that the scaling of your android app is not working properly on all phones.
Granted i have the Samsung Fold 4, and the app works great on my front (small, narrow) screen, but when opening it up the scaling of the application is all wrong. It's so wrong that the buttons and timeline for playback, PTZ etc is not working. It's really to baad because the form factors of all foldables would make it a dream to go through your timeline and search for stuff. I really hope you can prioritize this at some point
This could be fixed pretty easily by just making the video feed smaller, so all buttons could be used. I could always just press the full screen view in the app if i want to see a large video feed. -

The privacy mask should be improved to cover anything that should not be seen, such as the detection zone, painting, or the ability to create free-form shapes by moving points to any area, rather than just using squares.
