@user_617809627627529_617809627627529 I am using Windows and Android clients and have no issue with files download. I suggest you to write to Reolink support.
@ivar_360945041924304 I already furnished most of these to Reolink support. In my opinion their next features should be facial recognition, more optical zooming, more automation, rich notification, more security at camera side and more processing power to enhance performance.
@curls I always use the ISP DNS servers.
@user_617650665832448_617650665832448 No, other than what is available to other applications running on the Android smartphone. Reolink haven't yet implemented the addition of the sound field in the push notification payload. I hope that they are working on it as compe[censored]ors already have it. eh... and we are also waiting for the rich message notification too.....we want everything now and not tomorrow.........joking.
@curls Nice to hear that. There are instances where this has to be switched off so that the decoding is solely done through software as some HW decoding can cause issues. What is the model of your smartphone? From the speed test I see that your latency is a bit high and may impact bandwidth and performance. Mine is 1ms.Can you check whether you experience this behaviour when using the Android application with the resolution set to Low? Switch on the audio to check whether it chops. Then switch to high res and check again. Do this when your smartphone is on the same network where your cams are connected to and on 4G/4G+/5G (whatever RAN you are connected to). On HSPA you will experience this but this technology is being phased out.
@jared_36401795568 You can as long as the camera supports the ONVIF or RTSP protocol. You can install the IP camera viewer on Roku, set the cam IP, default ONVIF port 8000 or whatever you set on camera, credentials and the streaming URL. You may do a search on Reolink website and see how to set up RTSP/ONVIF on their cameras.
@jimbouk66_617478786228239 Hello Jim.......... This is one of the common question posed to surveillance professionals. One would argue that the higher the camera is mounted, the less likely it is to be vandalized, obstructed or stolen. But the higher it is mounted, the more likely the image quality suffers as the angle of incident steepens. Recommendations vary, many say never mount cameras less than 12 and 14' off the ground while others say the camera needs to be as close to the human (object) height as possible to get the full facial details. Recall also that people tend to walk with their head tilt downwards (naturally) by say 15 to 20 degrees. At close ranges, camera mounting height is crucial. Even mounted at 7-8', cameras begin to provide decreased facial detail of close subjects looking straight, due to the increased angle of incidence. Above this, the issue is worsened, with the camera capturing the tops of heads.At medium ranges, mounting height effects are quickly lessened. At 24' from the camera, there will be only modest difference in image quality due to angle of incidence, with no practical negative impact.At long ranges, increased mounting height has little effect, as the difference in camera angle is minimal.Rule of thumb and taking the max angle of incidence of 15 degrees, hereunder are the recommended heights.
@user_617216361168971_617216361168971 A shadow is defined as a contour of an object that forms due to the blockage of a light source. The setting here is used to manipulate the light source, exposure of the shadow to add or remove darkness from the image, and the increased dramatic depth of the image.
@robert-leyzerovich_519547077562499 So this also fails when trying to download a low resolution file using Android Reolink client and being on the same network of the camera. Right? Is it the first time you tried this? Did you try it on Windows client? Did you try ftp? If you still can't download I suggest you to email Reolink support.
@user_614688609960018_614688609960018 You see :). If it is software it can be easily fixed. I have been through this.
@jedi2020_32727772450952 As stated this not available on the latest official Android client. Maybe it will be included in the next upgrade.
@alvaro2 Then that's fine. Thanks.
@reolink-fiona Can Reolink create a triggering service and customers can use an IFTTT app on their Android mobile? This service has already been made available by Arlo to its customers. It may also invoke a callout if certain triggers occur. Wonderful feature.
@crimp-on_62210811129 We need to wait until this is implemented if acceptable to Reolink.
@reolink-mcacc_515883554820236 tcpdump will tell you what's wrong. Capture a trace and forward it to Reolink support to analyze. Wireshark is fantastic and of course one needs to know the protocols. I deleted Linux from my machine and have no time to install and test it out. Most probably it will work.
@reolink-fiona So this means that the logic has to be implemented in every model. Other suppliers adopted this implementation at their end and this results in less time to deliver and minimal work required at the camera side. And the list of actions is endless.
@user_615408209375314_615408209375314 Did you check with support whether you have the latest firmware? Maybe this has been added in a beta version and has not been released unless requested. The Chinese Golden Week has passed now and so they should reply within 2 days.
@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 Any update?
@curls The way you described it implies that there is no issue on the upload link. Can you install ookla speedtest application from playstore on your Android and check the download speed? Which cameras you have installed in your premises? And if you select low res (fluent --------- I told Reolink to keep consistency throughout and replace clear with high and fluent with low res)........would you encounter the same issue? Both WIFI and 4G/5G. If you are on HSPA then you will definitely have this problem.
@robert-leyzerovich_519547077562499 Set playback to LOW and try to download a video file. And then set playback to HIGH and try to download the same video again. Ensure that you do not exist the download page. If you get out of the window then downloading will stop. They need to fix this and increase the file transfer rate from the camera side.
