@ginny Sure thing, but PTZ mechanism in this case was more of something to play with but not suitable for serious observation when after any PTZ action the view of the guardpoint changed. So my hope ist that Reolink has learned from the past and (numerous) customer feedback and updated the PTZ mechanism.
@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 Well Joseph - that is what I said If the "new" model has better gears.
@md Person is simply a person the camera detects. Even someone just passing by. A visitor rings the doorbell and is normally also a person
@reolink-fiona Most important question: same crappy gears inside like 5MP E1 or can this one manage to keep a guardpoint?
@user_63_633151097208875 Well it's not that surprising as it is a cloud doorbell. This means quite simply said the doorbell connects to a cloud server where the IP is stored. Then you connect to the cloud server with your phone and request the IP of YOUR doorbell, so a connection can be established. I am not a network technician though. If you don't want it to work outside of your lan you have to restrict internet access for the doorbell on your router for example.
@seaisland215_530551422046397 unfortunately this doesn't work, so privacy mask for PTZ is pretty useless if you plan on rotating it. They are not so "smart" yet that they can remember a viewing angle or position and mask it.. maybe in a couple of years
@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 well incorrect in that sense that the OP will be disappointed using this gizmo. And yes I have the E1 OD connected via LAN and it works.
@crimp-on_62210811129 Sorry having to correct your statement, these POE splitters split the 44-57V Signal from POE to 12V DC, at least that what is stated on Amazon. So it SHOULD work actually.
@canterbury_444229323972785 you know that POE stands for "power over Ethernet"? Meaning the power for your doorbell will be transmitted via LAN cable. Your TP-Link switch definitely does not have POE, nor will your standard router have. My guess based on your info is that you simply do not have powered your doorbell yet. What you need is to power the doorbell either with wires for auxiliary power supply, a POE switch or a POE injector.
@user_647719597633561_647719597633561 try using another SD card, I had similar issues once where the card was defective.
@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 Ok I misunderstood I noticed also something: sometimes the wall socket is a reason that the chime does not work, even if it is in very close to the doorbell, something seems to disturb the signal. So it might be an idea to try different sockets. But anyway, my intitial problem has been forwared to support, let's see if they can work it out.
@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 it is not about the chime. I don't have evidence whether if visitor detection also doesn't work, that occurs too rarely. The postman drops the mail in the mailbox just below the doorbell, so it is solely about person detection for now. I will deactivate auto reboot, then I might have a chance to keep the doorbell in the "fault state" to do further research on that.
@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 it's the version v3.0.0.1459_22102808, the one it was delivered with. I haven't found any more up to date firmware yet.
@kristof Ok meanwhile it happend at least twice again (at least what I have noticed). This smells like opening a ticket....
@seb_526812765704330 because they are not available yet.
Hi.Ok I think I found quite a disturbing issue with the doorbell person detection, I would like to share with the audience here to verify or keep an eye on it. It seems that the person detection suddenly stops after a certain period of time. I experienced this 4 times now as I could double check with a 510A on the same location. The doorbell was not able to detect a postman walking right up in front of it between 0-7 meters, full sensibility. After a restart,.the detection worked again. The doorbell itself still works, shows a live picture and all. But all person detection stops. Please report if you have experienced something similar or if it is an individual problem.
@wleibrook_480642943336579 For example if you have a sidewalk in your far view and want to exclude all people there, so you set the minimum size box accordingly so only people that for example come up your driveway trigger the alarm. Those are naturally "bigger" than the people on the distant sidewalk.
@rehughes_632765347885158 I had an issue with the wall socket. Obviously there are sockets that interfere with the signal the doorbell sends. In my case the chime did not work in a socket in plain sight of the doorbell, but it works several rooms farther away through thick walls. Very weird.Try different sockets, try even extension chords.
@user_639174408290388_639174408290388 Same here, in need of additional chimes
@schanen-lyons_552815606821084 From an answer I got from support lately:1) Resetting: Unplug chime press and hold volume button while pluggin in again Hold until acoustic signal.2) Pairing: Unplug chime Press and hold the "settings" button? (The one opposite to volume, on the other end) while plugging in again Hold and wait for signal and light Press doorbell - should pair now.
