      Anyone test out the new version of the desktop app yet?
      i had some issues with the 8.16.08 version so didn't want to update to this new one until i see if anyone else has tested it out yet.

            I installed this version today and the Client is crashing when I try to switch the live main view (1x1cam) between the cams.
            It does not happen every time, just random.

            Thanks for the tip. Just opened the Windows Client, which prompted "New Version Available". Installed. Seems fine so far.
            (but then, I had no problems with 8.16.8, either)

                @crimp-on_62210811129 This should be included as part of the 'About' in the client. 10 minutes job.

                Now they have reduced the number of client instances to 3. Previously it was 5. Processor usage ... average 2.5%.

                @Daisy. Kindly include what has been added, removed and improved in the new Windows client. And it will be nice to have these in the 'About' menu.

                      @joseph_1979 yea, no idea what it was. The last few versions this would start up with black windows and a play button in the middle; only on those specific models, everything else was fine.

                              I have been passing feedback onto support each update so that the website and client are updated with the latest changelog, just like the app and firmware updates.
                              Its a simple to add really.

                                @big_ted Indeed you do. But this is quite obvious that the website should be updated continuously with the most recent information and enhanced. Even this community should be updated. Sometimes you cannot add pictures or URL and sometimes the text is rejected and you have to exit and log again. I bet no tech person is after this community. Some of the queries are beyond our capability, not from the technicalities, but from the way it has been implemented by Reolink. They need to understand that the customers are paying their salaries and subsequently they should take care of and listen to his/her complaints or suggestions.

                                    I have two PC's almost identical builds that i installed 8.16.10 onto... these are the issues that i am running into.
                                    context / System's both using M.2 boot drives which is where the client is installed.

                                    Windows 11 Pro on both
                                    1 - AMD 5600x CPU's + 5700 XT - 16GB 3200 MT/s
                                    2 - AMD 5600x CPU's + 6600 XT - 32GB 3200 MT/s

                                    System one - first launching the desktop app, the client runs flawlessly, isolating individual camera's, zooming in recordings no issues what so ever... after about 20 - 90 min later / after the system display turns off (NOT sleep mode), seems to be random, moving the mouse to wake the display's, the client looks like it is running fine until you attempt to isolate one of the camera's. This is when the image will distort and stretch, zoom function no longer works and the image will freeze. you are also unable to view recorded footage.

                                    System two - 100% identical trigger that causes the issue (first launching the desktop app, the client runs flawlessly, isolating individual camera's, zooming in recordings no issues what so ever... after about 20 - 90 min later / after the system display turns off (NOT sleep mode), seems to be random, moving the mouse to wake the display's, the client looks like it is running fine). However on the second system, when in split mode viewing multiple camera's at the same time the notification indicators, People, Cars, Pets start flashing uncontrollably even with nothing detected in the frame. Isolating any individual camera does not result in distorted / stretched images like on the first system, but it does not allow for zooming within the image or to switch and review playback of footage. Eventually teh image will freeze and stop live playback.

                                    If i select the "X" to close the application it will still be running in the background (Viewable in task manager). I will need to end the process before i can start the application again.. upon ending task and starting the desktop client, there are no known / visible issues, it runs just fine.

                                    • I can replicate the issue every day so i know it is a fault in the software somewhere. What i have done so far..
                                    • I have uninstalled / reinstalled the software using 8.16.10 version and the issue continues. so i uninstalled the software and removed all windows registry entries for Reolink desktop client. reinstalled the software to have the same issue occur.
                                    • tested with hardware / without hardware acceleration enabled. same issue
                                    • uninstalled "DDU" my graphics drivers and tested multiple versions old and new to see if it was a driver fault causing the issue. this did not fix the problem.
                                    • I had to do this anyway i system one to replace the motherboard so i wiped windows and did a complete reinstall of everything. still when using 8.16.10 the same issue occurs.

                                    The only thing that i can find that fixes this is to use any version before 8.16.08.

                                    I can screen capture the issue on both systems if the devs would like to see what is occurring... just reach out and i'll be happy to provide logs as well.

                                        @jing_734911040270566 I suggest you to take it up with support. For sure there was a change in player and they are using 3 instances. I am running v8.16.10 without any issues on both Win 10 and 11.

                                          Soemthing that I have found made a difference with one of our PC's having an issue with a previous client was updating the video codecs. I havent seen any info in support of this or if it should, but we updated to the K-lite codec pack and found that version would load live stream and playback better.

                                          after the latest update I can connect to my cameras threw my desktop PC but cant view anything any more unless I download the video clips and then open them up to watch them.

                                            Updated to 8.16.08.....all my camera screen became black....so in the interim used mobile app without issue...updated to 8.16.10 hoping it would fix it..nope still same issue..
                                            Is there any download link to the version prior to 8.16.08?

                                                  Thanks so much for the link!! Installed previous version 8.15.7 . Cameras live view now working again and not showing as blank/black on PC client anymore!

                                                  Updated to v8.16.10, on Windows 10, and the issue I am having is when I close the Reolink Program, it gets stuck running in background.
                                                  I have to open Task Manager to End Task.. This has happened too many times. So I am back to v8.16.8.

                                                    I have an update for 8.16.12 (Mac) but the link/update doesn't work. When using the link to download, I get some garbled AccessDenied string.

                                                        I might be a bit late to this thread, but I have issues with this version. Running on latest Windows 11 Pro on Dell XPS 9700 with 32 MB RAM and 1 TB SSD.

                                                        Issue 1 - The playback indicators for events or 24/7 recording sometimes show, sometimes don't. That's on latest firmware for Doorbell Wi-Fi and E1 Zooms. It really frustrating to use as it also seems to be inconsistent in the GUI. The previous version did not have this issue.
                                                        Issue 2 - This version is consuming 10-12% of CPU for a single live view, the previous version was only consuming 1-2%. The increase in CPU is turning the laptop fans to high-speed with all the noise that brings. Annoying.
                                                        Issue 3 - It takes 30 seconds to load the app. This was also happening on previous versions though. The last version where the app loaded almost instantly was 8.8.5.

                                                        Anyway, this version is unusable for me. I've reverted back to the previous version.
