The Windows Client found and installed it as expected. Thanks.(US)
Definitely each camera is independent (all settings). There appear to be different schedules for Record, Email, and Push notifications. But, within a schedule (Record, Email, Push) there is only one calendar. For example, it appears to me that a camera cannot be set to Record pets on one schedule and record vehicles on a different schedule.
Doing a reset on a Reolink camera should return it to the "factory condition", where you go through the usual setup process of "add a camera" and show the QR code to the camera.
Would be interesting to know which brands of battery powered cameras record "pre motion detection"
I have never thought it was a good idea to expose cameras to weather, and mount my cameras "under the eaves" where they will be protected. If you do depend on the weather rating of the camera and the lens gets water inside, contact Reolink for a warranty replacement (as long as the camera is still under warranty).
Please provide a more detailed description of the request.Push notifications are defined on the camera using either the Reolink Client or the Reolink 'app'. There are no 'ports' involved.
FTP 454 error is saying that the user name used to connect to the FTP server does not have permission to access the directory.
Most Reolink cameras can "change WiFi" after the user connects to the camera and enters the Settings menu.
I use VLC (free for Windows, Linux, MacOS, Apple, Android from Videolan(dot)org.
FTP is a feature built in to the RLC cameras. (not the battery powered cameras). I use it to store recordings from 8-10 cameras using FileZilla FTP server. Provides backup for the camera SD card and (I know this is goofy) allows me to use VLC to view motion recordings. There are no fees to use Reolink products unless one subscribes to a "cloud storage" plan (I have not)Looking forward to someone reporting actual temperature experience. My guess is the cameras might function at lower temperatures, but if they don't then Reolink's answer will be "told you so."
Memory is one possible explanation. Another might be that privacy zones are implemented differently for cameras which must be connected to a Reolink NVR to function. This sounds like a perfect question to ask Reolink support (with an email). I have always received prompt and thorough explanations from them.
@user_858173756547208_858173756547208 How strange. I have set up a privacy mask with over 40 separate zones on an RLC-1212A.
Privacy masks do not have to be contiguous. Each segment appears to be limited to a small rectangle, but there can be dozens of them spread around the screen.
Thanks for the tip. Just opened the Windows Client, which prompted "New Version Available". Installed. Seems fine so far.(but then, I had no problems with 8.16.8, either)
@tinchotommy_222364008116413 Hardware decoding is enabled on my Windows Client 8.16.8. No problems.only 10 camerasWindows 11Nvidia Geoforce GTX 1660 SuperReolink Client using less than 10% CPUI do not keep a ton of camera windows open at the same time. Nor do I leave the Reolink Client running constantly.
Unless the monitor is the size of a WALL, I struggle to understand how 4K video can be significantly different with five cameras displayed at the same time.My (puny) computer monitor, for example, is 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. 4K video is typically 3,840 x 2,160 pixels. i.e. there are twice as many pixels as can be displayed on my entire screen. If each of the five cameras is allocated 1/5 of the screen...... how does it make sense to insist that they be displayed "in 4K"?What am I missing?????
@joseph_1979 Windows Client 8.15.7 does not detect a new version.
When the Reolink app is remote from the local LAN, the camera can be found only through the Reolink cloud by the camera UID. Could you check that the app has all cameras defined by UID (and not by IP address)?
The FileZilla FTP port is definitely 21. (That's what I use, and it works.)Might be useful to look at the FileZilla Server documentation (right side of page)wiki.filezilla-project(dot)org(slash)DocumentationAny time a server on a home network is accessed from another location, it is critical that:
There is also a FileZilla user forum where people can ask questions.
It would improve the community forum a lot if Reolink would eliminate the dozens of bogus marketing posts that appear every day. Hire some teenager to watch the community and delete these posts as soon as they appear. (and kill the accounts that post them). Instead of every user individually skipping over posts, just make them disappear!I am getting very close to the point of saying, "the heck with this" and never visiting this forum again. If enough frequent contributors give up, there will be no one left to help anyone.
