@mart-tob_723653357826278 This is how it is designed to work when connected from an external network. Assuming that you have done the installation and you run the Android/Win client. When you run the client it will send DNS queries to get the IPs of the P2P servers which are AWS/Azure. Client receives the DNS response for the 16 P2P servers ( not all used...some point to loop back IP...future expansion). Then the client sends a request to each P2P server with the UID of each camera. The P2P servers send the local IP of each camera together with a public IP on the P2P server. When the client receives these responses it will first start to establish communication using the private IPs and port 9000. If the client is on the same network as the camera then the camera will respond and communication will be established (TCP). Here the stored stream mode will be used as bandwidth is not an issue. Note that at regular intervals the camera sends a heart beat message to the P2P servers and from this message the P2P servers get the private IP of the camera and its assigned public IP/port on your BB router.If, however, the client is on an external network, it will not receive any replies when using the private IPs and so it will use the public IPs. So the client will establish a session with the P2P Relay servers and the P2P server establishes a session with the camera (using the BB router public IP/port mentioned above). So the flow of media and messages is through the P2P servers and UDP is used as the transport prot. The P2P Relay servers don't have infinite bandwidth and this bandwidth is not free and so Reolink has to pay for it. So in order not to create congestion on the allocated bandwidth they opted to have the stream mode to default to FLUENT irrespective of what you set it before (my personal thinking). So here is a trade off.......Note that media and messages are encrypted at both ends. The flow can easily be seen by capturing traces on the egress of the BB router using Wireshark.
@crimp-on_62210811129 This is the redistribution package for DirectX. Just download to a folder, unzip and execute the dxsetup.exe. Yes some dlls dates back to 2010.
@crimp-on_62210811129 These are the DirectX9 libraries. Normally they are installed under system where there are the DirectX11 libraries.
@mart-tob_723653357826278 I was expecting that answer but wanted a confirmation. Yes, DirectX9 is needed with the recent clients. Thanks.
@mart-tob_723653357826278 Do you recall the missing files? Please check that all features function as expected. So far so good on my notebook.
@jm_fort_525559425302685 Excellent. Enjoy.
@th_620442697576459 Try to connect it to your smartphone hotspot as illustrated in the following link https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/900000449566-How-to-Connect-Reolink-Cameras-to-Phone-s-Hotspot/At least we know that the camera is fine.
@reolink-lorenz Suggestion: I would have rather included the icons on the same bar where there is the download to allow more viewing area to the playback. Yes, one can have the full view.
@mart-tob_723653357826278 Can you describe what is the issue? Maybe you have no video? Today they have released 8.12.1 at their download center. I just did the upgrade and so far it seems fine.
@ikolcheff_690588802470381 Ensure you have set the correct ports as illustrated below (TSL enabled/disabled).
@md They need to embed the geofencing API in their Android and IOS clients which shall allow the user to define parameters (geofences) which surround the areas of interest (house). The Reolink app gets a notification when the smartphone crosses a geofence and this allows the client to alarm or dis-alarm the cameras. Scene mode is fine but it should be further enhanced to include status and a flexible scheduling. And if switched off there should be a notification(s) that the scene mode has been disabled so one won't forget. This is all software and can easily be added.
@fritolays_721934216421523 Yes, this could be another option for all tracking models. While tracking the time to stop timers takes priority over return to monitoring point.I suggest you to send an email to Reolink Support with your request. It seems that features are prioritised in accordance to requests.
@pdivi_492401853944051 Which client are you using to communicate with the cameras? Any bandwidth issue?
@brandoncarrolleet_691346059215349 Unfortunately it is no longer possible to change the shutter speed and exposure on Reolink cameras. These were available on the initial cameras. Try to set the max bit rate and max resolution.
@condo_669529796935777 In Android, the operating system prioritizes WiFi over mobile packet data by default, and will automatically switch to a stronger and more stable WiFi connection when one becomes available. This is because WiFi is generally considered to be faster and more reliable than mobile data. However, this priority can be adjusted by the user in the settings of the smartphone (under development option for Android). The smartphone will always try to use WiFi when available, but if the WiFi connection is weak or not available, it will switch to using mobile data instead. Which is the model of the cameras? Is it connected using WIFI or Ethernet? Which client version are you using? Does this occur when using the same network as the camera or from an external network? Is there any bandwidth restriction or any fw rule (you receive push message notification but unable to open communication.....for me a bandwidth issue? Try to add it using the UID from the same network and check.
@decko999_126212170571978 I am assuming that your PC is on the same subnet of the cameras. Have two suggestions.
Is this a new E1 zoom? And this is the first time you are recording the video to your PC on this model?
@shane You need to install the microsoft or google authenticator on your smartphone so as to receive the 6 digit code. Login to your Reolink account and turn 2FA off and on again and start the procedure.Check this out https://my.reolink.com/two-factor-authentication/
@martijn_722445807239381 You're welcome. Enjoy the streams :).
@shane You're welcome.
@victoria_627138625310723 Would you consider to restore one camera and check again. Delete it and re-create it. They need access to your computer to check what's wrong. Whenever my customers have an issue on the application I sold to them, they run teamviewer (freeware) and they grant me the session ID and the password provided by Teamviewer when running. You will see what the other party is doing. But this depends on your willingness and trust. And as you said you are fine with v8.11 and will check for future updates.
