Hi everyone, Client 8.5.1 is officially available on our website now. You can download the Client here, App & Client - Reolink. What's New on Client 8.5.1 version
For any issues or suggestions about the New Client, welcome to post and we are here to help.
@reolink-fiona I am new to Reolink. I have downloaded b;ient 8.5.1 and I am struggling to find a manual to learn "how to"tried to delete recorded video but nothing happens, I can select video but when I click the sissor icon nothing happens.all the video on your help page are for a different version, the scrren shots you show are different.do you have a manual for this up to date version?
@godfrey-noakes_475630790275252 The recordings can't be deleted in the APP/Client. If you want to delete the recordings, you need to take out the SD card and delete them on the PC.The scissor icon is to cut the video to the proper length of the video you want. It is not to delete the recording. The manual is not updated to the latest version now. You can ask anything you want. We are willing to help.
strange that the reolink desktop app (was 8.3.1) was showing "you already have the actual version installed" when pressing button to check for update and 8.5.1 is already available...
@defcon_274148371144872 Have you turned on the auto-upgrade? You can also check the Client version at "About Reolink".
@reolink-fiona Same as Defcon but I have 8.4.0 installed and auto update on but still saying "you already have the actual version installed"??
but there is a big problem: ..it is not possible to see a split screen remotely (i.e. 4,6,8,9,10 ... 36 cameras), only one camera is visible. this works locally without any problems. what to do?
Still no option to reorder cameras in Windows client?
@daniel-cavnicar_170162980442347 We have a plan to set the feature to reorder the left menu. It will come soon. Stay tuned！
@ksfelter_354709584871563 Maybe you have forgotten to leave something here?
I have 13 cameras - mainly Argus 2, PT, and PT Go... i still have to run v8.2.6 on MacOS (12.x) as i've found several issues with the later versions, including the Dec 7 release, namely -
Thus if you're having odd issues with 8.4.x or 8.5.x on MacOS, i'd give v8.2.6 a try as i've never had an issue with it.-- Fizz
@fizzball_241945990828201 Hi Fizz, Client version 8.5.2 has fixed the high consumption of the CPU on Mac. It may be the cause of the slow connection. You can try the new version. If it can't work fine, you can try to submit the log here, Submit a request – Reolink Support. Then our team will try to look into this specific case. Log in Mac: (User)/Library/Logs/Reolink/
Dear Support, ( Neil@hbarrie.no )Just down loaded Ver 8.5.2 for windows Ver 10. Looking good.I at present notice in the top left hand corner, a little red dot ? ( Pond RLC422 ) - Why ?I am unable to enclose a pdf file ( Not enough privileges ?? )Best regards, Neil ( PS: This is the first time I have used this ! )
@neil-h-barrie_43834497381 Hi Neil, you can try to reset your camera and see if it still exists. If so, please provide us with a photo of it. You can try to upload the photo instead of pasting here.
I've also noticed the auto-update within the client doesn't work, I don't think it ever has, I have a theory why. If I run the client from the Windows Command Prompt, when it starts it logs a variety of settings out to the console, then checks for a new version and logs the following:-Checking for update...Update for version 8.5.2 is not available (latest version: 8.3.1, downgrade is disallowed).update-not-availableThis suggests to me that wherever it's looking for a new version actually has version 8.3.1, which is older than the versions we have.Hope it helps someone fix it
@gary-d_344027431432324 Thank you for the feedback, Gary. We have not enabled the auto-upgrade for the desktop app now. The only way to upgrade is to download the latest version from our site, https://reolink.com/us/software-and-manual/.We are planning to allow auto-upgrade in a future version update. Stay tuned for further news!
Not sure if this is a real issue, I just got my E1 PRO set up and downloaded the 8.5.2 Reolink Client for Windows. Both playback and live viewing feels choppy. This is most apparent in the time stamp, as the seconds move forward, it's almost like there's micro-stutter in the live view.Other people seem to have commented on this as well in the Reolink Reddit community. Just search 8.5.2 Reolink Client in that subreddit.
@suen_andrew_488833462579378 Hello Suen, thank you for the feedback. You may check the camera info and see if your E1 Pro is running with the latest firmware. Find the latest firmware here, https://reolink.com/download-center/When you download firmware, make sure it fits the hardware version of your camera. There are two hardware versions of the E1 Pro camera, one is IPC_513SD5 and the other is IPC_515SD5.Let us know if you have any questions.
@reolink-lorenz Yes the E1 Pro has been updated with the latest firmware.
