Can't wait for the Android version!Maybe something to consider: everytime i change the screen in the app, i have to put it manually to 5 mp. It woud be nice if it stay at the same and not have to change it all the time.Thank you!
@faasio82_480971996033257 The android version will be available within 3 weeks. But we are running beta testing for ver 4.29 now. If you are interested, click here to download, https://drive.google.com/file/d/12qNS9uoLWA2UBGc2DtynAi24o-8Bb0eT/view?usp=sharing. Let us know how it works and any feedback is welcome. In terms of the live view video quality of the desktop client, it was designed to stay the same before. However, it may take longer for the camera to load. To reduce loading time, we have changed the camera live view to stream in Standard mode by default. It is not very effective to change the video quality from time to time at the moment but we are seeking better solutions.
Salve volevo sapere se l aggiornamento è automatico o lo devo inserire io manualmente grazie.
@catalano_alessandro_452102872854751 Hi Catalano, are you referring to the phone app or desktop client? For the phone app, the one for iOS is now available on the app store while the official Android version will be available three weeks later. We are running beta testing for the Android app now. If you want to try it out, click this link to download, https://drive.google.com/file/d/12qNS9uoLWA2UBGc2DtynAi24o-8Bb0eT/view?usp=sharing For the desktop client, you will need to click the links to download the latest version on your own.Windows: https://home-cdn.reolink.us/files/client/electron-release/Reolink%20Setup%208.7.0.exe Mac: https://home-cdn.reolink.us/files/client/electron-release/Reolink-8.7.0.dmg Let us know if you have any questions.
Thanks for the update, some useful features. What would be really useful is if the PZT function 'zoom' and 'focus' had a bar on it, so you know how far you are e.g. zoomed in or out. Initially, I sometimes wonder when using this if I have reached maximum or notSomething like this....Tazzy
@tazzy_423116622815407 Thank you for the suggestion, Tazzy. I will forward it to our team and see if it is possible to add this to the client app in a future update.
Great updates! I'm excited for some of the new features. I would also love to see the following features added to the app/client:1. Picture-in-Picture (PiP) mode on iOS? I've read on your forums that this was a limitation with iOS. Is this something that will be eventually overcome? I've started to notice some iOS apps implementing this feature (e.g.: Netflix).2. Picture and/or video previews from push notifications. A picture of three-to-five second video preview of the motion/person/vehicle alert would help identify if further action is actually required, v.s. a false positive.3. Creation of multiple detection "zones" per camera.4. Quick forward and backward when viewing video playback: A b**ton on the GUI to quickly skip backward or forward 10, 15 or 30 seconds when using the playback feature (whether using when viewing full recordings, motion, person, or vehicle alerts)
@brian-r-schober_492005980741811 When you mention detection zones, do you mean - Alarm settings>detection zones in the menu? If you go into that menu, you can draw as you want and it will show as grey (although they are technically - non detection zones)like this below (sorry, had to blur my 'view' out, but it shows the grey I have drawn 'non detections' for
@tazzy_423116622815407 Something similar to how the nest cameras implement it by allowing multiple alert zones per camera. This feature enables you to receive alert from the specific zone you may be most interested in. For example: If I have one camera which covers a public road, a private building with door, and a private trash can; I would like an push alert that can separate the detected activity and say "motion detected by the trash can", or a different alert if there was motion detected by the "public road", or motion detected by the "office building door". You can then also filter by these motion alerts when using the playback feature.
@Reolink-Lorenz : Thank you for the explanation.I have the bèta version on my phone now.The live view stays at High now when i leave the app, but you are right, the loading time is longer.
@faasio82_480971996033257 Issue is more upload bandwidth related (camera side). If you are on the same wifi network the loading and viewing of recorded videos is very fast.
@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 It is true that there is a problem between the LAN and WAN connection. In LAN I have a speed of 100 mbps while in WAN the camera stops at 10 mbps. I do not understand why...
Congratulations for all the new releases.I recently bought 3 new RLC-810A cameras, and I was testing the firmware beta version of 810A cameras, and there are many new improvements. I was getting a lot of alerts with rain, spider-webs and fumes from water heater, and the new firmware with "Alarm Delay" feature solves these issues. Congrats! Now, a suggestion for another improvement - the implementation of geometric shapes with edit points in "Motion Detection Zone", and also edit points in "Privacy Mask".
@iot-casme_353308446793956 Thank you for your feedback and suggestion! I will forward them to our R&D team to seek possibilities.
time lapse on client ...nice to have more control......the power ...lol
My view freeses all the time. With live view and with watching recordings on Android. I am using the old app version, because the bèta Android version was very slow.
@faasio82_480971996033257 Thank you for the feedback, Faasio. Our dev team is looking into the issue now and we may get it fixed before the official release.
Playback also still doesn't work all the time.
@faasio82_480971996033257 Thank you for the feedback, Faasio. Our team is looking into the issue now and will get it fixed asap.
@reolink-lorenz : Thank you.Watching back the recordings is also very slow.
The date for the Time Lapse in the Bèta Android version is not correct.
With the Client Version 8.7 BetaThe live camera view defaults to Standard view (which I think is the same as Fluent). And I can change the camera view to Clear by right clicking on the live image. This setting change will remain while the client is running. My recollection with the previous client version was that after changing the live view to Clear, this setting change would be saved so that when starting the client after shutting down, the client would boot the live view to Clear.Observation with 8.7 Beta - changing the live view to Clear is not save after a client re-boot.
@robert-hammond_315369854550200 The stream mode was not saved before. But the stream mode used to be default clear. Now the 8.7 Client change the default stream mode to be balanced in order to make it more fluent. You can manually change the stream mode.
I just installed the beta version 4.29.3 for android, and indeed the playback of recorded videos is very slow now Looks like frame-by-frame playback instead of having smooth video playback
@Philippe: Exactly the same with me.
Hi Reolink Team,I did capture some traces at both the RLC511WA and the Client sides and noticed that the all the packets transmitted by the camera have reached the clients. You have a byte denoting the packet number. When the playback was set to low, the video preview was smooth and the sound was continuous. This means that at low resolution setting the camera was able to transmit the packets at a CBR with no packet loss or delays between packets. Then I changed the resolution to CLEAR and despite that there were no missing packets, the video can be seen sometimes freezing and the sound chopped. This is apparent when there is movement in both live and previews. There was no issue of bandwidth at all and both the source and the target were on the same subnet. Thence the issue is at source. It could be inefficient H264 encoding (I guess software encoding is used) at high resolution or hardware issue. I also noticed that the max downloading speed for FTP is 1.2Mbps. This is low especially when you are on the same subnet. I even changed the bit rate for 5Mbps with the recommended value of 1536kbps but didn't observe any improvements.I checked another model, the Argus 2 and the same issue has been observed at high resolution. Appreciate if the engineering team check and get back to us with their findings. Regards,Joseph
@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 I have exactly the same problem with my RLC-823A camera, in "Low" and "Mid" quality I have no problem, but when I switch to "high" quality I sometimes have the image freezing and the audio choppy or even cutting out completely. I don't have a bandwidth issue either and I'm also on the same network. And in WAN I am also limited to 1.2 Mo/s for FTP downloading and mobile downloading, while in LAN I download up to 10 Mo/s. The engineering team needs to look at where the problem is coming from, because we can't take advantage of the full potential of the cameras currently in high quality...
Alarm Settings is broke in this 8.7 beta. Does the same thing for all cameras and RETRY does nothing.
@nickm_495538090946719 You can try to update your NVR with the v3.0.0.0159 firmware version. Then the issue will be solved.1.
