@reolink-fiona even links to the docs shall be more than adequate. But at least there is somewhere members can search for.

RE: Argus PT Ultra with Auto Tracking... Testing!
@kimchigun if the cam doesn't detect motion for about 10s it stops recording. Increasing the PIR will enable motion to be detected a bit farther away and so it continues to record on the same clip.

@user_615408209375314_615408209375314 Hereunder please find the fields I was referring to. Ensure you select all the time under timer. Note that this is available for video and image depends upon your selection. You can also store the file in same directory too.

RE: What is needed in developing!
@ivar_360945041924304 I already furnished most of these to Reolink support. In my opinion their next features should be facial recognition, more optical zooming, more automation, rich notification, more security at camera side and more processing power to enhance performance.

RE: Argus PT Ultra -- Motion Tracking Version
@chopstix Some observations:
- Indeed battery operated cams have only the PIR and the WIFI ccts which are active at all times so as to elongate the battery charge. So the PIR cct has to trigger the bootstrap to run the application to start detection the object type, check non detection zone, start recording if scheduled and activated, check whether a push/email notification has to be send, etc and this entails for time. So if the object passes fast over the FOV then it will be missed and may not even recorded. So the best cams are the ones powered through dc adaptors and POE which are constantly recording and can provide recording priori the event trigger. But again better than having no cameras. Personally, I do not think that tracking is something to add to battery cams but rather would have exploits other features.
- To have 360 degrees is achieved if you have a full 360 view. This could be two DUOs back to back or having a pentagon type cam with 5 lenses. Nice to have.
- Camera is able to follow one motion and so important actions may be missed. Hopefully that the cam always retrun to its monitor position and no need of frequent calibration.
- I have E1 Zoom, E1 OD Pro and TM. the best motion tracking is provided by the TM.
- Yes, I agree that the 3W is rather low power solar especially if it is triggered often. It needs at least 6W solar panel.
- Can you rotate the antenna downwards and notice if there is any improvement? I have asked for RSSI indication on the camera and some stats on packets such as loss packets, latency, etc. This helps the user identify issues on the WIFI network. The bars shown are nowhere accurate.
- What is the recording time set on your camera? I normally set them to max permissible.

RE: Firmware mismatch between two E1 Outdoor cameras
@reolink-fiona Please ensure with the team that the firmware will be rigorously tested before being launched to the general public. Recall that members (like Alvaro :)) will be willing to assist in the testing.

RE: Smart Wi-Fi Battery Camera with Auto-Zoom Tracking - TrackMix Is available for Pre-order US&EU
@reolink-fiona Would say that with the TrackMix models Reolink has continued to churn out truly innovative security camera products customers have been waiting for. Thumb Up Reolink.

RE: Argus PT Ultra -- Motion Tracking Version
@chopstix
Regardless of the chemistry (uh the days where we had to learn all those formulas !!) of the batteries implemented on Reolink bat cams, cold weather will impact their ability to function. Since batteries run on chemical reactions, and as temperatures drop, these reactions are slowed down and increasing the resistance (the electrolyte becomes more viscous and less conductive at low temperatures), limiting the battery’s operating capacity. Even though lithium-ion batteries perform the best in cold temperatures, they still have a safe operating temperature range that should be followed. Additionally, they have a built-in Battery Management System that prevents them from unsafe operating conditions and won’t allow the battery to operate outside the safe temperature range or accept or charge when the internal temperature of the battery drops below 25°F.
Reolink states that their batteries should be charged at temperatures between 0°C and 45°C (32-113°F), and do not use the camera if the temperature drops below -10°C(14°F). But this is the engineering threshold which is lower than the design one. It will operate at more extreme temperatures as customers have witnessed. This, of course, reduces life span and performance.
Here in Europe it's sunny with temperature reaching 18 degrees Celsius. -
RE: Firmware mismatch between two E1 Outdoor cameras
@alvaro2 Good. But the problem of the guard point deviation will never be solved. I also noticed that in total darkness the E1 OD is not so sensitive even though the sensitivity is set to high. At day time it's brilliant though. So they need to optimize the detection during total darkness. The integrated IR seems to be inadequate. I can add an external illumination to it but this is not the appropriate solution.

RE: Suggestions for water protection
@md It depends. If it is a 9 inch wall then you definitely need the junction box which costs less than 8 bucks. Being a senior engineer I do read most manuals before I start the job.

RE: Reolinkers’ Week Day 5: Reolink Client Version 8.7 Beta & APP Version 4.29 Release
Hi Reolink Team,
I did capture some traces at both the RLC511WA and the Client sides and noticed that the all the packets transmitted by the camera have reached the clients. You have a byte denoting the packet number. When the playback was set to low, the video preview was smooth and the sound was continuous. This means that at low resolution setting the camera was able to transmit the packets at a CBR with no packet loss or delays between packets.
Then I changed the resolution to CLEAR and despite that there were no missing packets, the video can be seen sometimes freezing and the sound chopped. This is apparent when there is movement in both live and previews. There was no issue of bandwidth at all and both the source and the target were on the same subnet. Thence the issue is at source. It could be inefficient H264 encoding (I guess software encoding is used) at high resolution or hardware issue. I also noticed that the max downloading speed for FTP is 1.2Mbps. This is low especially when you are on the same subnet.
I even changed the bit rate for 5Mbps with the recommended value of 1536kbps but didn't observe any improvements.
I checked another model, the Argus 2 and the same issue has been observed at high resolution. Appreciate if the engineering team check and get back to us with their findings.
Regards,

RE: Argus PT 2k recordings are jerky & pixelated.
@user_585783633887262_585783633887262 If trunking has not been prepared before finishing the house then the only option is WIFI. But should not pose an issue at all as there is adequate bandwidth. Let's see the outcome after the arrival of Samsung EVO SDXC.

RE: Latest firmware
@big_ted But why user has to check? Clients, cameras and NVRs should regularly check for updates and report to the Admin. This is already being implemented by other camera suppliers. For instance when you run an application it will check for updates and if there is a newer version, it will prompt you that there is a new version. Similarly there is a scheduler which triggers a camera to reboot........they can add the request here or included every time the cam is rebooted. This should send a push message notification or email to the user. But of course Reolink servers should be dimensioned to handle this and the download traffic.

@big_ted In Europe it was immediately available once it was published. Well you are the first to celebrate new year and the last to have Google play update....

RE: Argus PT 2k recordings are jerky & pixelated.
@user_585783633887262_585783633887262 the way you described the facts it seems to me a firmware issue. It's hard to believe that all SDs became faulty within days apart and which have been in use for a few months. The common task done on all cams is the firmware upgrade. Check with the new SDXC and if it doesn't work then ask Reolink to push you the previous firmware.

RE: Client v8.10 Beta Test - Framework Upgrade to Improve Streaming Stability & Fix the Black Screen Issue
@big_ted I never had any issue with HW decoding both on my notebooks and Android smartphones. I did some testing and seems stable. However, I need more time to test more functions. They still need to be consistency throughout the applications. This is really easy to fix.........just change text in the code.
Moreover they need to augment file transfer rate for the FTP........1.28Mbps is too low for files exceeding 80M. Fiona please take note.
