@casa-tecolote_694497117085937 I agree. Would you be able to submit your request to support on support @ reolink .com
@chopstix You will learn and teach
@radioastronomy_410111540293820 Well if the burglar wears a balaclava then you are screwed. By default most security equipment is stored either in garage or basement. Then cable locator and wow here it is. :). My philosophy is that if one wants to break in he will definitely do it no matter what you have. See how many bank heist there have been and some of them still on the run. But to keep our mind at peace we say we did everything we can.You sound to be a good planner like me. I spent a lot of time in planning which really pays off. However, even though my cables are free too, I only run one cable but at any time I can replace any as I did the installation too and knows all the routing olus being documented with photos too.Nice to meet such people. Cheers buddy.
@cvance10_529511550173407 you need to enable the uid on the rlc511wa as illustrated in https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360013481134-How-to-Enable-UID-for-Reolink-Products/
@user_880405136908475_880405136908475 I suggest you to submit your complaint to support on support @ reolink . ComSince you have adjusted the day/night slider and there was no effect then it can be a fw issue
@reolink-oskar Can you tell us on which fw the quick replies mentioned above have been implemented?
@chopstix So now I go for a long break and leave it to you.....fantastic.
@icancyou_596163611529276 There is a newer fw https://home-cdn.reolink.us/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/230701081708671668.8679.zip?download_name=RLC_842A_1643_2402219328.zipWhen applying this fw, reset the configuration and start afresh. Take note of the settings before applying upgrade.
Email support on support @ reolink . Com and tell them to send you firmware IPC_325C7.705_21052800
@cvance10_529511550173407 When you say you can watch it from work on pc, is your office using the same network? Ensure that the UID is enabled on RLC-511WA. When you are at work or on an external WIFI network and your smartphone is connected to this WIFI, will you be able to access the RLC-511WA?
@user_766423686758602_766423686758602 Can you connect to your network over VPN? You need to be on the local network and use webui, assuming you have either http or https enabled. Maybe you have someone who can connect his PC to your home network, do a remote login on his pc and then install the Reolink client or use webui,
@radioastronomy_410111540293820 Nothing is secured. Just follow the cables and it will be found.
@user_657209872740378_657209872740378 ...first check that you have the most recent firmware from the reolink download center. Is it ringing or push message notification?
@maxuline I did install it for several weeks now and so far no issues. However, I moved it to an area where only persons can be detected. Update: I did have installed an RLC-811WA in the location of the RLC-511WA. RLC-811WA has lower vertical FOV and of course a better definition since it is 8MP. However, I am having some issues with its WIFI stability. When there is a TCP retransmission the audio stops for a few seconds and sometimes the frames freeze. WIFI at this location is absolutely strong with 250Mbps/100Mbps and have other WIFI cameras in the vicinity and they have no similar issues. I told them that why you implement TCP as transport for Video and audio especially when using WIFI. I forwarded them traces indicating where is the issue.
@cvance10_529511550173407 So when you are at home and your smartphone is connected to the same WIFI then you are able to view the cameras. And I assume the same if you are outside and using another WIFI network. This means that the client is fine. So the issue is when you use the mobile packet data. Ensure your smartphone is connected to 4G or 5G. 3G has not adequate bandwidth. Does the mobile operator enforce some restrictions? Can you use another SIM?Can you enable hotspot on smartphone and connect PC to this hotspot? Then start the client on PC and check whether you are able to view cams.
@luuke_869320929738914 Detection algorithm was not able to determine the exact object type. Can you send the video to support on support @ reolink . Com so that they will improve the algorithm?
@alan_909533752111327 Are you using the Windows client? Did you try to uninstall and re-install the client? Do you have another PC where you can run the client?
@reolink-oskar This all boils down to costs. One of the key advantages of full colour night vision technology is that it offers clear and vivid colour images, even in near complete darkness say as low as 0.0005 lux. This is made possible by having a massive 1/1.2'' CMOS image sensor to capture more light, as well as a warm light that reaches up to 200ft. The technology has come a long way in recent years and continues to improve, making it a popular choice for cameras. There are also a couple different technologies to achieve full color. Some of the more affordable full color cameras use a built in warm light that can go as far as 100ft. More advanced cameras utilize two lenses. One lens captures visible light and the other captures infrared, both are then combined with clever programming to achieve a multi-spectral image. This means that with the same 100ft warm light, you can see even further in the dark. Another technology is thermal imaging technology which captures the temperature difference between objects. They use microbolometers to detect different amounts of infrared light which are then converted to images of heat signatures. Since these cameras can identify heat patterns, they can see even in zero light and when there’s smoke present. So thermal night vision cameras are very useful for security where visual clarity is important regardless of the lighting condition.
@flynn74 There isn't this option. However, you may submit your request to support on support @ reolink . com for re-consideration.
