@user_688480938590394_688480938590394 Try this link:https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/900000620926-What-Should-I-do-if-I-Forget-my-Reolink-Account-Password/
Hello, I have two questions:
@reolink-fiona Yes, please announce in the future you are going to do maintenance. A lot of users could not figure out what went wrong. Telling us beforehand will help a lot.
@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 Same issue at my house. I assume something is wrong with Reolink servers? I still deploy a few Blink cameras, though far inferior to Reolink I use them as backup. My Blinks are the older models which do not require subscription.
@crimp-on_62210811129 The person who posted there's a delete button is mistaken. Reolink does not have that. Click my prior post to Reolink support page about it.
@vigy_591093180735512 You may know this but in the phone app with all the cams showing, pull down on the screen, on top you'll see little icon symbols and a + sign. You can create scenes, name them, to turn multiple cams on/off. I have my front cams and backyard cams set in scenes. I can turn them all on/off just by touching the little houses.https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360026049414-What-is-Scene-Mode-and-How-to-Set-the-Scene-Mode-for-Your-Cameras-on-Reolink-App
@user_679812718014634_679812718014634 Sorry I don't know about the wires. You may be able to buy another cable from Reolink. Contact their support.
@nenavodi_648284329952350 My Reolink app does not have a delete button for specific clips. I cannot delete selected ones. It does not bother me. I don't have a need for this. Reolink says users can't delete specific clips:https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360035930074-Can-I-Delete-Certain-Video-Footages-That-Stored-in-Micro-SD-Card-and-HDD-via-Reolink-Software
@vasanthkumar15_115466312192137 Darn it. Someone on Reolink Reddit showed how to replace the cable a while back but I don't recall how he got the extra cable. Contact Reolink support, they might sell you one. Is that a AI cam? If not you might want to just buy a new model that has people, vehicle detection which really helps reduce false alerts. When I upgrade to new models I keep my old cameras for parts.
@kevin_399645965463795 Did you protect the cable ends from moisture/water, put them in a junction box, inside wall or up in soffit, etc? This can cause problems. It's not very obvious but on page 7 of the Guide it says to protect the cable ends from moisture. But this may not be the problem. Contact Reolink support, start a ticket. They'll try to get the cam going then you can request a return or exchange since it should be under warranty assuming you registered the cam when you bought it.
@user_679760499654822_679760499654822 Yes it can be frustrating. I think Covid, supply chain issues are still affecting products. My son had to wait several months to get his new pickup due to electronics parts being behind on the production line. Last December in China there were riots in the streets protesting the Covid lockdown. I think things are getting better. Reolink sometimes has a few camera models on Amazon but doesn't notify people unless they have a big batch ready. On Amazon's Reolink store right now the POE doorbell is available and on sale assuming you are in USA.
@tapndog_647126922768699 If you have a POE switch or Reolink NVR just power it with POE. You don't need to power it using the low voltage input unless you want to. It does not have an internal antenna, it's not wi-fi so you still need to use the ethernet cable for data transfer to view/operate the cam. Some Reolink cams like the current E1 Outdoor must be powered by low voltage, it's not POE but it has an ethernet port for the data. A newer model E1 Outdoor coming is POE. Be sure to protect all the cable ends from moisture/water which can short out the cam. Put the cable ends in a junction box, inside the wall or up inside the soffit, or use waterproof plumbing tape.
@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 May be yet another example of users not protecting ALL the cable ends. PLEASE Reolink add more specific instructions in the Guide or add another printed note in each box explaining this, to protect ALL the cable ends in a junction box, in the wall, up in soffit etc. Yes a few may not read the Guide and do a bad install but that will be their fault, Reolink will not be judged for not informing buyers....
I like my Reolink cams. I like the app. There is an ongoing problem however with the camera cable ends. The Quick Start Guide fails to explain how important it is to protect the reset button, low voltage cable, ethernet cable from moisture/water. The guide only has one line on page 7 which mentions this. While Reolink provides a cover for the ethernet cable, there's nothing for the other two ends. I've had Reolink cams for about three years. Over and over again, numerous times new users install cams or have someone else install them but they don't protect the cable ends, moisture gets in and the cams fail. They post the problem here or on Reolink Reddit, one just posted on Reddit yesterday. They get angry their cams fail due to moisture/water getting on the cable ends. It's common sense to protect electrical cables from moisture, Christmas lights, etc, but inexperienced people don't realize how serious this is, maybe they don't read page 7 in the guide. Please Reolink rewrite page 7 in the user guide and FULLY say the reset button, low voltage cable need to be protected from moisture/water, SPECIFICALLY tell new users to use a junctions box, put cable ends inside wall or up in the soffit, use waterproof plumbers tape, etc. Or print and add a paper note to each camera box explaining the importance of protecting these ends. Even with a detailed explanation some users may not read it and still do a bad install. But at least Reolink could not be blamed. Manuals should be written for the least knowledgeable, as if they don't have a clue, not for those who know something. I heard one of the new Reolink cams has caps for these ends, that's good.
@user_675532834635884_675532834635884 I don't know about the 820A or if they have changed the mount design. But I have two 833A. On the edge of the sides are two small marks. When installing turning the cam on the bracket I hear a click sound, the marks are lined up. It locks in place. It takes some force to go the other way to unsnap it. It does not move. Here's a link to Reolink Reddit, an old discussion about 820A mount. Someone suggested a little silicone caulk. Someone else said glue but I think that would be bad for later on...https://www.reddit.com/r/reolinkcam/comments/m9bcgz/rlc820a_loose_hardware/
@reolink-fiona This will be a great addition to Reolink products. It would be good to also have a white version because most ceilings are white and they would be less obvious looking like a smoke detector.I'd like Reolink to make a small indoor cam that can be hidden, not for nefarious reasons but to keep a burglar from seeing it.
This will be a great addition to Reolink products. @user_675878781247537_675878781247537 Yes. If that's what you want, turn off when home, on when away. If you have a regular routine, work hours, you can schedule the notifications at certain times each day, turn on notification, under this button you'll see a schedule button, open that. If you decide to go out for groceries, a walk, whatever an exact schedule won't work, you'll still need to manually turn on/off notifications. Another option would be to leave notifications and recording on, but pan the cam facing the wall so I won't record you when home, when you leave pan the cam back to where you want it.
@riprengineer It's a good idea to read specs and watch reviews on Youtube of cams so you know the capabilities, features and limitations before buying. Reolink has a YouTube channel and I like LifeHackster channel showing the performance of cams.
@dave-skardon_643912088023231 I think most if not all apps brands are proprietary, the firmware only allows their cams to work with their apps. However, some Reolink cams work with other apps like Blue Iris, Home Assistant, etc. because they have RTSP/ONVIF.
