@johnc-elec_391500083704034 Now our camera can only support live view on Alexa. If there is any news, I will let you know.
TLDR:This article will tell you about the support models of time-lapse, how the time-lapse work, behind the scene of development, how to shoot the time-lapse, and tips for time-lapse settings and its download & storage.
Below are the cameras that support Time-lapse:
PS: If you add the camera to the NVR, the time-lapse is not available. Please check the list here if you are not sure whether your camera supports the time-lapse or not.https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/900002907866-Which-Cameras-Support-Time-Lapse How does this video create? The camera takes the photo at regular interval and then gather the series of photos together as an accelerated video. This is called a time-lapse video. The time-lapse video can record the project like the construction/garden process, the object changes like weather change, sunrise, flower blossoming, and all the life around us as time passes by. It shows time passing in a few seconds, which could not experience if we just see the recording videos at normal speed.
Before, many users will deal with our cameras all day videos and secondary processing videos to record the evolution of the project or life. But the videos are at long length and it is hard to choose and process them if we would like to view the long-lasted event in a short moment. As a result, adhering to the concept of making the camera not only useful but fun, our engineer evaluates the interesting function in the market and decide to add the time-lapse.
Just put the SD card in the camera and the time-lapse feature can work.
Step 1. Go to Device Settings > Time Lapse.Step 2. Tap Try Now and select a scene for time-lapse capture.
Step 1. Put your mouse on the live view screen and click the Time-lapse button.Step 2. Click Create Now and select a scene for time-lapse capture.
We have different kinds of preset modes like Event/People/Traffic, Moving Clouds, Sunrise, and so on. The preset settings can give you the right settings of duration, interval, etc. to generate a good time-lapse for a specific scene. For example, if you would like to record your camping event, you can choose the Event/People/Traffic mode. Optional modes: Event/People/Traffic, Moving Clouds, Sunrise, Sunset, Construction, Blooming, Animal, CropsPS: Reolink battery-powered cameras do not support the Event/People/Traffic scene.
You can also choose to customize the time-lapse settings if you don’t find the right mode. Both videos and images are supported.
1. Duration: It is to define the time duration of the whole time-lapse, which can be set from 1 minute to 830 days, or no limit. 2. Daily Capture Period: It means that the camera will begin to capture the photo in this time period every day. Only available when the duration is more than 1 day. 3. Interval: The interval is the time between two captures in the capture period. From 2 seconds to 6 hours for PoE or DC-powered cameras and from 10 seconds to 6 hours for battery cameras. 4. Format: Choose to store the capture as a photo series or a compressed video. A camera can save a maximum of 10,000 photos per day if the photo format is chosen. If you want to enable the time-lapse for a long period, you are recommended to set a longer interval or store the capture as a video instead of a photo format. 5. Estimated video length & estimated file size: After all the settings, there will be an estimated video file size for your reference. Based on the estimated size and the scene, you can adjust the duration, interval, and quality to generate a proper size video. If the file size is so large that exceeds the available storage, it is recommended to set up a shorter capture duration, a longer capture interval, or a lower video quality.
1. If you would like to download the large time-lapse, it is better to download it on the PC Client(with the latest version). 2. You can choose to overwrite the time-lapse function in the setting. This will allow the camera to overwrite the files when the storage is full.

Hey guys! Today I would like to share a hot and bitter tears story during the development process of the fisheye camera with you. That shows the evolution process of the Reolink fisheye camera. There are many unexpected variables during development. From the initial design of the fisheye camera, the shape and color, to the internal hardware design. At the beginning of the design, the decision on the color of the fisheye camera went through many debates. Some Reolinkers may have seen our white version fisheye camera during the CES exhibition. That one is a middle version we use for internal testing. A product always has to go through some frost before it ships. From the “traditional” white to black, we finally came out with a gray color, the first ever grey Reolink camera. And the final version will go to ISC West to meet you too.It is the first step that costs trouble. We met a new problem after choosing gray. The gray paint affects the signal of the Wi-Fi module, so we started a new round of spray paint and Wi-Fi module signal testing. And thanks to the Reolink god, we made it.We have constructed three AI models for the fisheye camera because we have three mounting methods. The images displayed will differ when mounted differently, which raises the difficulty of person detection analysis. We hope the new AI models can fit the need of different environments. After coming to the market, we are also willing to collect your feedback to improve the design.Stay tuned to our announcement! The official fisheye will be available in early April. I will reveal more details about the fisheye camera in the following posts. What do you want to know? Please comment to let me know.
@boyer_36488329729 Thank you for sharing your experience with us. Because there is no battery in the TrackMix LTE Plus and the battery is in the solar panel, the solar panel and the camera need to connect together to use. And the solar panel can't work with other Reolink battery models. We would release a new 6W solar panel, which is twice the power of the previous solar panels. Stay tuned!
@xaatre Thank you so much for your suggestion. I will pass them to the product manager for evaluation.
@dg I will list more detail in the later version. Let me know if there is any issue.
@ramms_119 Thanks so much!
@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 Thanks for the test. We make windows 1:1 ratio so the stretch mode is removed. We will add a 'double-click to expand" function in v4.37. Stay tuned!

TL; DRThis post mainly introduces fisheye cameras, the differences between our fisheye cameras and those on the market, the difficulties in developing fisheye cameras, and how we have adapted to overcome these difficulties. Hi, all We came out with many new products in the first quarter, among which the fisheye camera is the most distinct and refreshing. You'll also wonder why we came out with a fisheye camera. Besides enriching our product line, we would like to provide you with additional information to learn more about this new Reolink product.
Fisheye cameras get their name from their shape and ability to offer 180° and 360 ° panoramic perspectives of the area they are monitoring. The image from the fisheye lens is hemispherical or wide panoramic, which produces strong visual distortion. It is pretty much like when we see through a door's peephole, just like the effect of a fisheye.
1. Larger FOVThe general fisheye cameras in the market are usually equipped with a short focus lens (f: 1~2mm) and a sensor that can create a larger image than the lens's so that the field of view of fisheye can reach or even exceed 180°. Compared to rectilinear lens cameras, fisheye lenses can provide a 360° panoramic view to cover a vast area without blind spots. 2. Less CostNot only can fisheye cover the monitoring area in all directions to achieve no-blind spot monitoring. If bullet cameras were to be used, three or four might have to be installed to provide the same level of coverage. A PTZ camera could provide 360° of coverage, but not in a single view. And, while multisensory cameras could supply both, their feature set puts them at a price point that smaller operations may not afford. 3. Ease of Use & InstallationFisheye supports three ways of mounting(Ceiling/Wall/Desk). These installation methods and their discreet appearance make it a good tool for indoor use. Its 360° panoramic monitoring feature can achieve the same monitoring effect as several cameras. It saves cost and reduces the troublesome installation steps for multiple cameras. What's more? The fisheye camera can be installed in various indoor locations, such as homes, shops, halls, factory.
The ultra-wide-angle lens has both advantages and drawbacks. While it provides a 360° panoramic view, it also brings strong distortion. This distortion will make detect people more challenging for our AI model. Yet, the short focal length of the traditional fisheye lens will also lead to low effective pixels(low resolution). We focus on these issues in our following fisheye development.
1. Resolution: Through repeated selection and testing, we choose a 1.98mm focal length lens that matches a 1:1 large target area sensor. Such a combination can reach a higher effective resolution, which means that compared with the same 6MP Fisheye products in the market, our fisheye can get better clarity at a distance of within 5 meters. 2. Software Support: The warped and circular fisheye images make the AI recognition less accurate and harder to recognize. Thus, we adopt LDC technology (Lens Distortion Correction.) to optimize the fisheye images and make them less distorted. The distortion-free images make it easier for accurate human/motion detection. 3. Develop Preview Modes: Besides the standard panorama and two-split screens, our fisheye can expand warped images into four-split screens, five-split screens, and other display forms. The five-split screen allows you to see distortion-free images even on the NVR. You can also watch the distortion-free view via the multiple preview modes through Reolink App/Client, which adds more fun in surveillance. You can also drag parts of the screen to get the best vision. We can't wait for you to experience more details at its 360 all-around views with fisheye! Feel free to comment here. We are listening.
