Client v8.7.3 is available on our download center now.
You can download it via https://bit.ly/3MdFSGo.
What’s new
1. Added “Fixed frame rate” setting
-If you choose on(fluency first), the frames will be fixed and not be automatically adjusted for night vision.
-If you choose off(clarity first), the frames will be automatically adjusted for night vision to guarantee the image quality in dark.
If you meet the problem of the smearing image or missed AI alarms, you can choose to enable the fixed rate.
This setting will be available for the camera with the firmware v3.1.0.951/956(models: 810A/820A/510A/520A/811A/511WA/823A/822A). You can know about this firmware here, https://bit.ly/3FumlPA.
2. Changed the interframe space to multiplier options(GOP multiplier selection)
The setting is to adapt to the settings of third-party software like Blue Iris. We suggest using the default setting. If you think your picture quality is not good enough, you can adjust the interframe space settings.
What is GOP? A GOP is a group of consecutive pictures. A GOP(Group of pictures) is the distance between two iframes, measured in the number of frames, or the amount of time between iframes. For example, if an iframe is inserted every 1 second into a video at 30 frames, the GOP length is 30 frames, or 1 second.
How to set interframe space? In our Client, interframe space is to set the number of frames between two iframes. You can choose the multiple of the frames for both clear and fluent modes. 1X means one multiple of the frames rate you set. 2X means two multiples of the frames. For example, if you set 25 FPS and 2X, the distance between two iframes will be 50 frames.
This setting will be available for the standalone cameras with the firmware v3.1.0.951/956(models: 810A/820A/510A/520A/811A/511WA/823A/822A). You can know about this firmware here, https://bit.ly/3FumlPA.
3. Redesigned the PTZ control panel and added the function to reorder the preset points in patrol
(Speed of the PTZ and patrol function are only available in standalone cameras models RLC-423, RLC-523WA, and RLC-823A)
4. Synchronized the PTZ preset points and the preset points in patrol
5. Added the full-screen button for the privacy mask, object size, and motion zoneFull screen mode
6. Added “Terms & Service and Privacy Policy” confirmation dialog when first starting the Client
7. Redesigned the About Us page

@reolink-fiona when will 8.7.3 support 823A PTZ camera
-
@reolink-fiona
Can you elaborate on interframe space setting? 1x vs 2x? Which setting provides the best image quality?
-
I have installed 8.7.3 and my PTZ does not look like the image in the screenshot, I do not have the speed function, do button in the middle of the arrows and I can not see how to enable patrols. My camera is the E1 Outdoor.

@neil_chaplin_is_450076909830276 It should be on ver 8.7.3. I have RLC511WA and now it is as it should have been from the start.
-
@neil_chaplin_is_450076909830276
The speed of the PTZ and the patrol function now are only available in the camera model(RLC-423, RLC-523WA, and RLC-823A).
-
I have the latest firmware and client but the fluency first options are not there.

@ashall3n_532259310379259. It should be there as indicated below.
-
@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 Can confirm that "it should" isn't, a lot of people are having this issue where fixed Frame Rate is not displaying and they are updated on everything.
-
@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 no offense but I literally included a photo of it not being there, you telling me it should be there is zero help.
My cameras and nvr are on the latest firmware, the client is 8.7.3. I get the same if I access it through the web or app. -
@joseph-chircop_497308027822318
I can also confirm that the "Fixed Frame Rate" & "Interframe Space" options are not there..
But I also noticed that, Based on their picture, they are showing the option on a single camera, Not on an NVR.
(Notice the 810A (upper left corner), and the lack of which camera to set (which would be above the "Stream" on an NVR). -
@bill-doria seriously this thing reolink have where features aren't available if you are using an nvr is a joke.
-
@ashall3n_532259310379259
I believe it is because the new firmware for NVR hasnt been finished yet and will be updated to support the new settings when it is finished testing.
But with the amount of products Reolink now have I think they may need more testers etc to get ontop this as not great all products having very different update
schedules, specially when they are designed to work together. -
@ashall3n_532259310379259 @bill-doria @robert-leyzerovich_519547077562499
It only works with the standalone camera now. I have talked with the R&D team about the option in the NVR. I will let you know if there is any update.
-
I can not reorder my preset points. It only allows me to reorder the patrol points. The above information is misleading and shows reordering of the preset points (Can not reorder them).

@moragtekk_533858579546346 The auto update in the client is not a currently working feature. will be activated at a later date.
Best to check at https://reolink.com/download-center/ -
@big_ted Hopefully we will see it soon. Client doesn't send the request to the server to check. It's a question of hw resources :).
