@christian-busch_66653286949051 I did test a new Argus 3 pro and it did include the pet detection. But it is still in beta version. They are improving the detection algorithm and once optimised it will be deployed. So far cats and dogs.
@user_607280705777699_607280705777699 IMEI is only used in mobile network to block calls in the event the smartphone is stolen. It has no added value in tge call/sms flow. What you need to check is the bands which is supported by both the operator and the 4G/5G module of the camera. In my country mobile operators deliver their 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G mobile services on the following bands.
So if the camera supports any of these bands then it will work without any issue. You need to ask reolink support to provide the bands supported by the camera you purchased and then check with the operator. Local operators are regulated by the national communication authority and are authorised to use the respective bands.
@gabs_338098463609012 If you already know that 8 cameras shall not suffice to cover all your security needs then I would certainly opt for a 16 port NVR. You stated that you are inclined to have motion detected triggering and if this is the case than your ftp server can handle the file transfers without any issue. Recall that not all cameras will be triggered simultaneously and even so the ftp server can handle such file transfer. I do have ftp servers which handle giga bytes of file transfer. As for the bullet or dome it depends on where to install. Dome cameras are normally used for shorter range and where more vandal protection is required. They also provide wider angle. Bullet cameras are for longer range and easy to install. They don't offer the durability of the domes. My last suggestion is to avoid wherever possible battery operated cameras as you will not get recording before the event is triggered and sometimes it may miss the object. Otherwise installation is fairly easy and here you can find support too. We are here to assist wherever possible.
@user_606848775635059_606848775635059This rather depends on user requirement. As for everything there is con and pro. In a nutshell,+ Can provide power to devices+ Single cable for data and power+ Backwards compatible with PoE and Non-PoE Devices+ Reduces overall cost+ Easy to install and relocate devices– PoE Switches are expensive– Not suitable for large distances (over 100 meters)Definitely the way forward is that most devices shall be POE.
@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 support please note.
@bella_412621634248833 Indeed this is a prerequisite when you have a number of cameras each of which has its own configuration. They should implement configuration backup and restore. They can do it either global or individual. I would certainly do both.
@reolink-fiona Hi Fiona, thanks for the invitation. We will certainly assist the members as much as we can.
@jedi2020_32727772450952 I receive a lot of emails (snmp traps) and push notifications from the mobile and IMS networks and having them on the watch will drive me crazy. It is a suggestion which Reolink can evaluate.
@reolink-fiona Finally Reolink introduced 2FA which I did request it. This is the first step and there are a multitude of security features to be introduced. I did sent my suggestions to Reolink support. You need to act faster............
@jedi2020_32727772450952 I have Android and have other applications receiving push notifications. It is not possible to differentiate. It should come with a schedule similar to push/email notifications and you can opt which detection shall use this feature. Would a push notification or an email wake you up during the night? IP cameras are becoming intelligent and taking over the alarm panels. For instance this can be combined with facial recognition and say you shall receive a call when a certain person enter the premises. The list is endless.............
So far ip cameras provide two ways of informing the owner either through a push message notification or email. How about adding a VOIP application where the camera can call the owner and any other added recipients? Sometimes we receive so many emails and messages on our smartphone that the we tend to ignore the push notifications from the camera. There is no way to differentiate them either. So if instead the camera can call then we will definitely not miss it. So far I haven't seen any supplier providing this and once again you can be the first to introduce.
@user_588567793635436_588567793635436 I would rather say that this is mostly attributed to the medium as otherwise there are lots of complaints. I had a similar issue and since I replaced it with a Samsung evo plus I had no further issues. As for the file management I would say that Reolink has to improve the file handling as sometimes just after the recorded video has ended the file handle is not released properly and so the application fails to read the file.
@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 typing error............lick to be replaced by kick. Apologise.
@bearhug It shouldn't have any impact other than the IR will not lick in as there will be adequate light. Just a suggestion. How about having the Duo 2 at the centre of the garage which would give a FOV of 170 degrees?
@user_598375219970174_598375219970174 On Windows client there is the option 'Chose All' and if you are interested in files generated during a specific period then you can set the time window too.
@user_596564847939668_596564847939668 And add the capability to measure the max DL and UL bandwidth and the signal level which shall be useful when the camera is placed in remote areas and the user wants to troubleshoot. Maybe there will be HOs over UMTS in which case it shall use HSPA or HSPA+. And sometimes there might be a packet data transport issue which can be sorted out by IMSI detached/attached. This is similar to flight on/off on the smartphone. You might say restart the camera which shall cause and IMSI detached and attached procedure.
@quackit_568214774502011 Quelli con batterie non si possono registrare continuamente.
@user_598686391537682_598686391537682 Too much detections will drive you crazy but Android won't accept more than 24 unless you acknowledge them. There are myriad of important features which are still missing on Reolink cameras/applications such as facial recognition, packet detection, sound detection, more control on zone detection schedules, more security features on both the cameras and applications, files management, user profiles, audio AI, transfer files to google drive or dropbox (at least to countries where cloud is not yet available), rich push notifications, cam to cam communication to trigger other cameras, etc. The list is endless....... in software you will never say that's all. It only depends on one's imagination. But of course all these come with a priority.
@rick-klink_322854524236019 I did encounter this issue a few months ago whereby we had an issue on the IP core and the BB routers got a new public IP. It took several hours for the Reolink P2P servers to replace the old IPs/Ports with the new ones. Similarly emails generated as a result of a detection event were still being sent during this period as doesn't require the support of the Reolink servers. Perhaps Reolink needs to make the communication protocol more robust.
Can you let us know what are the plans for Reolink to introduce geofencing? And how about having a multitude of push notification? Perhaps rich notifications. Your competitors already have them for quite some time. You need to act fast to lead in this market.
