Here are some explainations:1. Instead of just saying Alarms from IP Camera.I would like to see what camera it is. That way I can quickly and easily tell what was triggered. ------Please login the camera via Reolink App, go to Device Settings >> Display >> Name, and name your camera. Then your issue will be solved.2. Another thought I have is that a quiet period for notifications would be nice. For instance I am mowing the lawn and it takes my 30 minutes to finish I should get 1 notification every x amount of time. Not sure what that time is but I don’t want to get like 500 alerts and emails during that period.------If you want a quiet period for notifications you can tap to disable PIR then you'll receive no alarms during the process.Thank you.
Hi, my fault. I've been extra busy and missed your message. I realized your NVR is running on very old firmware and it's not supported to upgrade on Reolink Client. So, as you stated, the only way to upgrade is through NVR itself, at least before you upgrade the NVR to newer version. Please try another USB flash drive, and make sure you unzip the downloaded file. Use the ".pak" format file for upgrading. If you still fail at the process, my suggestions are 1. formatting your USB flash drive once (into FAT32) 2. trying another USB flash drive.Thank you for your understanding.

Thanks for sharing. I agree with christianjohn. By the way, your English is better than most English native speakers
NVR >> Device Settings >> Maintenance >> Upgrade from Local, select the correct firmware for upgrade. Will it do?
My pleasure, sir.

Oh, you don't have to sign up for different DDNS accounts for that. You can set different ports for all your cameras. And do port forwarding of the ports to IP addresses of the cameras. Then you can access different cameras by this format: DDNS_domain:http port number. Please play it around or you can email our support for further guidance.
Hey guys, sorry for that. We are working on this problem and please try again later.
Hi, it can't be. Please download from https://home-cdn.reolink.us/files/firmware/842_170524/RLN8-410_170605.zip for your 8-channel NVR.And unzip it and upgrade NVR with the ".pak" file. Thanks.
We think the password could be leaked this way. So it's advised to use Web client for locally accessing the camera. And it will be encrypted with https. If the camera is being used to monitor something not too private, it's okay. But when it comes to monitoring indoors area, it's better not to use that rtmp url with VLC.Another way is to create a guest account for the camera, which will avoid leaking the admin password to others.
Hi, how about you logging the NVR via Reolink Client and upgrade the NVR firmware via Reolink Client? Also you can login the NVR via IE browser to perform the firmware upgrade. After the NVR is upgraded, you can upgrade the cameras on the NVR. Give it a try
It's under way. But it could take some time. Thank you all for your patience
yeah, we probably need to cancel the input channel number. It has no use if it is a standalone camera.
Thanks for sharing this little story.
Hi, ".mp4" files can be played via most players. Try microsoft media player, please.
Hi, if you are accessing the camera in LAN, then you can always select to live view in "clear" mode. And use optical zoom and digital zoom to amplify the areas of interest. It does the same trick as "clip" function.
Dear Cosmo,We made some investigation of similar products on the market. There a few that supports the requested request. And customers made criticism that this made them miss the important incidents when they pan/tilt the camera and held the manufacturer responsible. So we discard the idea. We think they just had a point. When you live viewed the camera and found something abnormal, you PTZ to get a better view of it, and it's JUST not recording on motion (to the NVR). That's bad. Maybe there is really something there and you want to record them down, but this could just gets missed out. So you see, customers request polarized here. We may review the request again if there is any progess on it. Or there is more intelligent method to it.Thanks.
