@vustean_547227200921749 You bought and got the camera already? My understanding is that the pre-order won't ship till middle of the month. Am I missing something?
@reolink-fiona I appreciate the Vertical two-screen mode. However, it seems not very useful when you have a few cameras to view from Client. Right? In that case, will it be more useful to have picture in picture like screen mode where you have one small windown at the right bottom overlapping the big window (for example, small telephoto window overlapping the wide lens window)?
Wow, just discovered the new 4K Duo 2 camera by accident. Did I miss the announcement? It looks like Reolink took my feedbacks of the 2K Duo camera seriously. Replacing my 6 months old Duo with the new 4K Duo.
Just wondering when we should expect to see the iOS rich notification?
@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 Why not use the cell phone? Place the phone next to the camera and run the speed test on the same wifi network.
@philippe Consider getting a Tesla. Tesla has builtin dashcam and 360 deg cameras system to record activities around the car. It has been proven to record accidents and vandalisms.
@jani_472826784014531 This applies to all battery and PIR sensor based cameras across all brands. That's why I switched to PoE cameras.
https://bit.ly/3PlAvGjTrial is already closed? Will like to trial.
I have my DUO PoE camera about 6 months. I like the camera but concerned about the lack of software support for the camera. The camera is still running the original firmware. My older RL822A camera already got a few firmware updates that include alarm delay, push notification delay and pet detection beta. No software update for the DUO camera so far. Any idea?
@reolink-fiona Does it support H265 or only H264?
@gmac71624_538988406644942 Correct. Converting Intel version to Universal version which can run on M1 without translator shouldn't be difficult. I have already submitted the request but who knows when will happen. Reolink needs to understand that Apple no longer makes Mac with Intel processor so they ought to make a move soon.
@gmac71624_538988406644942 I have M1 Macbook Air. Mobile app is no substitute for Mac Client app. I have iphone and iPad as well but running mobile app on Mac doesn't utilize the big screen that Mac provides. This is especially important when you have a Duo camera that can provide a panoramic view of large area. If you have more than 1 camera like I do, viewing multiple cameras on Mac Client is much better. I only use mobile app on my iPhone when I am on the go. Running mobile app on iPad is not the same as picture in picture. Picture in picture allows the video window to float in foreground, so you can monitor the camera while performing daily tasks like reading email, safari browsing, etc.
Realistically, no one is going to be staring at the Reolink client or mobile app all day or even an hour to monitor cameras if the app needs to be run standalone. This is where I think Picture in picture feature will permit reolink users to monitor their camera long period of time while doing their daily tasks like reading email, browsing internet and running other apps. My Xfinity stream app on iOS, for example, allows me to stream TV with picture in picture while running other apps. Likewise, QuickTime player supports picture in picture on Mac. So I think it is possible for Reolink to support picture in picture on both iOS and Mac. I truly believe that picture in picture will be a game changing feature for monitoring Reolink cameras and I hope Reolink can support this feature very soon.
@mike_184729178919056 I think it is a chicken and egg problem. The camera is usually mounted high enough that people can't reach it without ladder. And the newer knob allows to make it adjustment easier when you are on ladder. If you are mounting too low where people can reach, you have other issues beside orientation of the camera. People can simply stick a bubble gum or a tape to cover the camera lens. I personally don't mount my camera very high either, just high enough (7') so that I can use a step ladder to mount and make it unreachable for most people.
@caw81677_481398734471350 Exactly. That's what I was thinking when I saw the headlines. They just need to change the form factor of the current Dual lens camera for the purpose of AC wiring and adding real powerful flood light to it. Smart ptz camera isn't a substitute for a floodlight camera.
@reolink-fiona I think you're referring to your upcoming smart ptz camera with dual lens and spot light, not the flood light camera that I was thinking of. Bummer!
@reolink-fiona What about Mac Client? QuickTime player on Mac is alreday doing that.
@reolink-fiona I understand pet detection is in beta on 4K cameras but I can't even test it on current Dual lens camera since it isn't available. That's why I want to make sure the floodlight supports pet detection even if still in beta. Raccoon and dog are what I am trying to detect.
@svensk-svagströmsteknik_264796796358863 I think probably a small screen. Kind of like picture to picture where small video screen appears on top of whatever the application you are running. That way, you can monitor your camera while running other applications like mail, browser, etc. It shouldn't be limited to iOS however. Mac client should support that as well.
@reolink-fiona I assume it will support pet and human detection. Right?
