@user_815206675906696_815206675906696 It has powerful spot lights as illustrated at https://reolink.com/product/argus-track/
@user_679517071716589_679517071716589 All you need is Filezilla/Cerberus ftp server application running on a PC and allow the cameras to upload the recorded files via FTP/FTPS. Moreover there are cloud FTP hosting services which you can subscribe to until Reolink upgrade their cloud service to accept all Reolink models.
@nacster_1969 I already stated that I have no issue in installing and running any of the 8.10.x clients. I have them on three PCs with both Win 11 and 10. No need to look for ZX81, Spectrum, QL, Commodore, BBC, etc........ we know it and we used to code games and programs in assembly language...Z80, 6502, MC6809 etc. If you want I can teach you assembly language, C++, python, networking, Telecom, IMS, etc. So be respectful. The supplier will sort the issue as they did in the past.
@nick_26792935116 On Reddit I have seen Reolink admin stating that the standalone hub shall be available in June.
Virgin Media VM routers till HUB 5 don't support POE on their Ethernet port (most home BB routers eg Sagemcom, Thompson, etc don't support POE) and so you need to purchase a POE switch (if the camera is POE) or a POE injector if the camera doesn't support POE but have an Ethernet port (data) and power port. Ensure that the POE injector/switch can support both the 802.3at and 802.3af in active mode as Reolink have some models which support one mode and not the other. Moreover check that the power output of the POE injector/switch meets the power requirements of the camera. Which E1 model you have purchased? I have the E1 OD and this doesn't support POE. Data and power are distinct and so here you need a POE injector. Note that the voltage is at 12V and it consumes around 1A at max load.....so you need 12W as the power output of the injector. Reolink have a range of camera models you can choose from. Ensure that you know well your requirements and try to find the model which suits you most. Battery operated cams are flexible and useful where there is no power outlets in the vicinity. But they have their downfalls too. They cannot record continuously and lack the pre-recording (say 15s) before the camera is triggered. So if the object passes the FOV quickly then you might miss the object. And yes battery operated cams don't support FTP/S but can store the video on to the internal SD or the cloud. I still cannot understand why they can store it to the cloud and not to an FTP server. Anyhow it's their strategy and design.
@nacster_1969 I know that it can be frustrating but Reolink is one of the companies which listen to its customers. Indeed sometimes it takes time to implement but they have their priorities and strategies.I encounter these issues with big companies on multi-million equipment (bigger than CISCO since you are in the networking). I do all the investigation, collect all the traces and logs and we together sort out the issue. It's useless to complain at the wrong place. One has to follow the correct procedure.
@big_ted Indeed. Software has no limitation other than one's imagination. Just dream it and implement it. That's what I did when I was a software developer in C++/Assembly.There was a member who asked you for the download/upload speed (plus ping and jitter if possible) on your StarLink connection in Australia. Maybe he lives there too :). Do you experience any delays?
@kevin_476142842638551 Good.
@user_694180074676378_694180074676378 It seems an issue specific to your environment. On my 8.10.4 it is working correctly. It's not easy to know why the calendar is not being popped up. Is your java updated? Try to run the client as Administrator. Try to install it again. If still unable to get the calendar then email Reolink support.
@big_ted hope there is one from this community.
@ks This has been solved in the new Android client 4.35.0.7 by adding the volume control. This shall be shortly available in google play.
@crimp-on_62210811129 I cannot reproduce your screen blinking issue when zooming in/out using the mouse wheel. I tried on Fluent, Balance and Clear. I am running 8.10.4 on Win 10 64bit. Tomorrow I will check my other notebook running Win11.
@reolink-daisy Inspirational design. We wish to have more F1.0 cams with wider vertical FOV and more robust communication protocol. And of course we would like to see some of the most requested features. Thanks and keep it up.
@jfbaro_664228245382261 Not yet. No dates provided so far.
@crimp-on_62210811129 I conducted the tests on Argus 3 Pro and DUO 2 at clear resolution and full screen on both Win 10 and 11 and couldn't reproduce the black screens. And I did scroll the mouse wheel as fast as I can. Do you have other applications running in parallel with the client? Do you have adequate video RAM? Can you check whether there are services which have higher priority which are causing interrupts? Can you set the priority of the client to high and check?On a different note but the subject being the 8.10.4, the stream mode setting is being ignored when set from a network outside the LAN on which the cameras are installed. So you set the stream mode as CLEAR on the live and move to the Playback tab..........without selecting any clip and you go back to the previous live window of same camera, the stream mode takes again the default setting which is FLUENT. I checked this on a number of cameras and got the same behaviour. However, if I repeat the same procedure with the notebook connected to the same LAN as the camera then the stream mode settings are correctly set and retrieved (the client use the private IPs of the cameras to communicate). Maybe Reolink introduced this so as to minimise the time it takes to display the live stream. I started to experience this since 8.10.2. I did report this and have been told that this is a design. But I am still pushing for this to change.
@nsk This has been requested.
@jfbaro_664228245382261 facial and license plate recognition still not yet in the roadmap announced by Reolink. Facial and license recognition require substantial processing power and storage and so this entails for a home base unit which Reolink don't have so far.
@jfbaro_664228245382261 AV1 could be the future of codecs, but older codecs like H.254 and H.256 have their merits as they offer better compatibility and lower encoding time on current hardware.
@reolink-daisy Fantastic deals...keep them coming.
