@frederic-fusillier_236807380766857 In case of battery operated cameras, only the PIR circuit is drawing current while the application is in cold state. So whenever the PIR detects an objects it runs the the application which analyses the object. Therefore from the time it detects movement to the instant it start recording, a few seconds elapse and so you may miss the first part. There are times that if the object get out of the field quickly, the camera won't capture it and then you will wonder what has triggered it. I have the DUO 2 WIFI battery operated camera and I placed it on the roof where the activities are rather minimal. To capture a few seconds before the camera has been triggered then you need a dc/poe powered camera which is constantly capturing. Their detection is based on pixel change rather than PIR and have longer range.

@reolink-oskar It's nice but I still say that the vertical FOV of 55 degrees is rather low. In actual fact it may be less than this value. My personal opinion.

I presume that the reset button is included on the camera and not part of the cables.

@sibedad I don't have this model and so I cannot comment. I suggest you to email support on support @ reolink . com or come to the Reddit community where you will definitely find customers who have this model.

When using the Windows client from an external network, the stream always default to FLUENT when you open any camera live view. This is because they are using 3rd party service (Azure/AWS) to forward the media from the camera to the client. The bandwidth is not infinite.

Note that we have requested support several times to leave the stream setting as set by the user even when using the client on an external network. You may email support on support @ reolink . com and endorse your request.

20,000mAh is 20 Ah. The battery capacity, volts times amp-hours, is about 3.6 x 20 = 72 Wh. The maximum input power is 5 x 1.2 = 6 W. Assuming a 10% power tolerance from the panel (regulator) the charge time in bright sunlight, continually facing the sun, would be 72/6/0.9 = 13.3 hours. However the charge might taper the charge current towards the end of charge so it would actually be longer than that....say 16 hours. Therefore we need a higher wattage solar panel .... at least a 12W panel which yields to 7 hours of bright sunlight.

@chopstix I used to design, implement and carry out the acceptance testing of mobile networks :). I know to what you were referring to but as I explained an IMSI (i.e. Physical SIM) consists of 16 digits, the first 5-6 are the MCC and MNC . The MCC is the mobile country code which is 222 for Italy (like the Telephone country code +39) and MNC is the Mobile Network code, namely, the operator. eg 299 1mobile, 08 fast web, etc. So each operator will only authenticate the IMSI range assigned to him by the local Communication Authority. So to connect to different networks one needs to have different SIMs. Note that I am excluding MVNOs which are operators which use the mobile infrastructure of another operator. These MVNOs normally use different IMSI range. So to connect to two distinct mobile operators, you need two SIMs.

The two way radio units you mentioned still use SIMs. These use packet data only. Most operators assigned these units M2M SIMs. Any device which connects to 4G networks requires a SIM. The only exception is when calling the emergency number in which case there is no IMSI authentication. Some people remove the IMSI and make a prank call to the emergency service. They think that they cannot be traced. They are stupid as the operator has the IMEI of the phone through which the call has been made.

However, I am just a customer as you and have no authority. And I do not have so much free time as I am very busy with mega IMS projects.

It couldn't be a local eSIM as local mobile operators won't allow it. So it has to be an operator who has roaming agreement with all mobile operators. Then the MCC + MNC of the IMSI will be mapped to a Global Title and MAP messages forwarded to the serving operator. Charging will be handled by this operator.

Note that in the description it is stated that the SIM is included. So we are there.... similar to the P2P servers provided by AWS.

Personally the ads don't affect me at all. If they do I just simply ignore. They are on the main menu of the application which I seldom select. So I do not see this as an issue.

I am a customer like you and on this issue I can't help. So I suggest you to take it up with Reolink Support.

@chopstix I have moved from software development to senior technical architect to teaching and now consultant on security (not cameras :)). 1992... at that time there was pascal and C.

@sibedad I have several cams from Reolink and never had any major issue. Wherever possible avoid battery cams. But it is better than nothing.
