@user_731589111668879_731589111668879 Use the scene mode as described in https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360026049414-What-is-Scene-Mode-and-How-to-Set-the-Scene-Mode-for-Your-Cameras-on-Reolink-App/?gclid=Cj0KCQjw0bunBhD9ARIsAAZl0E3-w7Yv_wnqE9ejSf4F08sBgdQVk15BP6MTCjQk-0hF4grTh9-VNJQaAliCEALw_wcB
@user_727999352516787_727999352516787 Home maintenance is like software........you won't ever say it is complete as it merely depends on one's imagination and creations. I do remember developing applications for big companies and I never say that's all. Always adding. Just plan it and do it.For Reolink cams. just have distinct 2.4G and 5G SSIDs.
@user_731491452289253_731491452289253 I suggest you to email support and quote your hw and fw versions. They might have released new fw versions.
@user_694372066795760_694372066795760 Reolink are working on motion tagging but I think this will be available on new cams. We have been requesting this for quite some time.@shayla: Can you please update us when the motion tagging shall be available to the customers and on which models?
@user_727999352516787_727999352516787 That's fine. Is it the RE650 V2? This is absolutely one of the best I have ever seen. I installed two at my sister's house and she never complains.
@user_727999352516787_727999352516787 Try to avoid having cameras inside the house, wherever possible. I have two (in garage) but I check the logs of the router and have a number of rules.
@user_727999352516787_727999352516787 You're welcome. If you have networking or Telecom (Mobile, IMS, vPBX, Fixed, VOIP, protocols, etc) questions just put it here and when I am free I will answer. The communication between the camera and the client is encrypted and so far I didn't hear anyone who was able to decrypt it. No matter how much security you add, there is always a way to get through, This is like the well known Alcatraz which was considered as the most secured prison.......but three managed to escape. I am using the UID method and if your router has firewall then you can implement rules. You can use DDNS and port forwarding to communicate with the cameras too. You can create a free account at noip(dot)com. Here you need to create a hostname which you need to enter in the camera DDNS config. Set a static IP 192.168.1.Y and media port XXXX for the camera. Then on the router add a rule with external/internal port mapped to 192.168.1.Y for both UDP and TCP. Then go to client and add the camera using the domain and port and voila'. In case of VPN you need to set up an VPN on your router like openvpn. This is the mostly secured. Don't forget to follow the policies set out for passwords creation and renewal. I have forwarded a number of suggestions to Reolink to enhance the security on the cameras. It is not about securing the premises but also securing the camera itself. I didn't get any reply. Just that my suggestions have been forwarded to the dev team and nothing else.
@railfan-arizona_485965826351268 I presume that you have the same cameras at Stockton and at the other districts. Which models if I may ask? And from Android you are able to connect to all cams right? And before upgrading to v8.12.1 you were working without any issue. Did you try to install the client on another PC and add the cameras again? A wireshark trace shall help to determine whether there is any response from the camera.
@user_617650665832448_617650665832448 Is the DUO 2 battery operated? Reolink adapter normally uses the 5.5 x 2.5 mm jack. You can measure the diameter with a ruler.

@160334357029011 Just to let you know that I am on v8.12.1 and have no major issue.
@user_617650665832448_617650665832448 Good to hear that. You has to delete it from Win client and android and add it again. If it fails rhenium you need tp restore it.
@user_727999352516787_727999352516787 Another service provider offering the relay functionality.
@user_727999352516787_727999352516787 cloudflare is a service provider too like Amazon and Azure. I am in Europe and the p2p servers are through Azure and AWS.From mac terminal enter nslookup p2p2.reolink.com. You need to use the client on the mac and not the iPhone. Just use the iPhone for hotspot using mobile data. Please install wireshark on mac and take a trace on mac.See this written by Reolink.https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/900000618443-Introduction-to-P2P-or-UID/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI9dyDj5mAgQMVSC4GAB11AAerEAAYASAAEgKxafD_BwE
@mignodon_684022733922697 Does this also happen when you are connected to the same network as the camera? Which client are you using for Windows? Did you check your upload speed on your router when viewing the camera through your smartphone and connected to mobile network?
@user_727238878437606_727238878437606 None of them has the option to force WIFI to 5G band. I think Reolink started to implement this on their latest models such as E1 OD Pro.It normally connects to the one you have connected the camera to. Is the 5G available at the location where you shall be installing the cameras? Recall that 2.4G waves have shorter wavelength and so longer range. I do have WIFI cams connected to 2.4G and have no issue at all. I do suggest you to email Reolink support and ask if they are capable to extend this to your models.
@user_731114945163512_731114945163512 If it is a battery operated cam which uses PIR detection then it makes sense but for pixel motion detection, the camera has to continuously compare the change in pixels from one frame to another. So in this case the IR has to be always on.
@stuart_185312528715954 I am a customer like you and give my support on operation based on my engineering and software skills. Yes, I am aware of that archive and it's really pity Reolink don't include old firmware and clients in their download center. Nevertheless I suggest you to open a ticket with Reolink support.
@stuart_185312528715954 Go to https://reolink.com/download-center/ and download the fw and apply it using the Windows client.
@stuart_185312528715954 I am on the same firmware but i have the WIFI TrackMix model. I don't have any issues and I can view in clear mode and the sound is continuous. Try to email Reolink support.
