@user_617650665832448_617650665832448 It is not easy to state what went wrong unless traces are captured at various points. From Android Reolink client restore the camera and reconfigure it again. Note that restore will not delete the wifi setting. But before doing so take note of all the settings.
@mattdm_579588790694198 You can re-order them to whatever order you want them on Android without deleting anything.
@jedi2020_32727772450952 The Duo 2 WIFI battery operated can support up to 256GB SD.
@big_ted Reolink has to include what has been fixed or changed with each new upgrade. Moreover their applications should check for any update each time it is invoked like any other application. This can be easily implemented.
@mattdm_579588790694198 If you want to start afresh you need to delete them from all entities where you have defined them, namely, Windows Client, Android/IoS client and NVR (you need a mouse and an monitor). If you don't know how to delete them (fairly easy) go to Reolink site and in the search field enter 'How to delete camera from POE NVR', etc. Still I cannot understand why you want to delete them. For instance you can easily delete the other channel.
alien-ware i7 I don't yet have Win 11 due to company policy. Can you right click on the reolink.exe and change the compatibility mode? And try to toggle the hardware decoding too.
@stef The first one has the most recent firmware. The second one has to be upgraded. All you need to do is to email Reolink support to provide you with the newest stable firmware. Don't forget to include the HW version as there are several E1 OD HW versions. To upgrade it you need to use the Windows/Mac client. Auto upgrade on Reolink products is not activated on the server side unless Reolink engineer pushes the upgrade to your profile. Their customer care is quite efficient and will reply within two working days.
@user_602187556462673_602187556462673 Depends on which model you have. Some Reolink models allow you to add additional users who can only view but are unable to change any settings. Settings can only be changed through the admin account. If you no longer want to these users to log on then delete the user account. In your case if you have shared the camera through the sharing feature then to stop sharing just change the credentials of the camera.
@jedi2020_32727772450952 Next week they will send the new firmware and hopefully most of these issues will be resolved. Well, powered cameras are by far better than battery operated ones but this depends on one's particular needs.
@user_617809627627529_617809627627529 Not so much users using Mac. Support will surely help you out. I presume both camera and client are the most updated.
@lockyo_343437773390047 Indeed it is and I do recommend it too. However, there are some issues which have to be resolved such as improved wake up time as sometimes the object is missed, spotlight takes a bit longer compared to Argus 3 Pro, clicking on CLIP while in live mode doesn't work (both Windows and Android clients), missing Pet detection and perhaps better 5G WIFI sensitivity. I am waiting for a new firmware from support. Will update on the outcome once I will test it.
With the proliferation of automation through the IoT devices which can control myriads of equipment such as opening the front door of the house, customers are requesting more security at application level. We need to have face-id or touch-id to run the client applications. Any thought of such implementation please? Cameras and their applications must also be more secured.
@user_617809627627529_617809627627529 I am using Windows and Android clients and have no issue with files download. I suggest you to write to Reolink support.
@ivar_360945041924304 I already furnished most of these to Reolink support. In my opinion their next features should be facial recognition, more optical zooming, more automation, rich notification, more security at camera side and more processing power to enhance performance.
@curls I always use the ISP DNS servers.
@user_617650665832448_617650665832448 No, other than what is available to other applications running on the Android smartphone. Reolink haven't yet implemented the addition of the sound field in the push notification payload. I hope that they are working on it as competitors already have it. eh... and we are also waiting for the rich message notification too.....we want everything now and not tomorrow.........joking.
@curls Nice to hear that. There are instances where this has to be switched off so that the decoding is solely done through software as some HW decoding can cause issues. What is the model of your smartphone? From the speed test I see that your latency is a bit high and may impact bandwidth and performance. Mine is 1ms.Can you check whether you experience this behaviour when using the Android application with the resolution set to Low? Switch on the audio to check whether it chops. Then switch to high res and check again. Do this when your smartphone is on the same network where your cams are connected to and on 4G/4G+/5G (whatever RAN you are connected to). On HSPA you will experience this but this technology is being phased out.
@jared_36401795568 You can as long as the camera supports the ONVIF or RTSP protocol. You can install the IP camera viewer on Roku, set the cam IP, default ONVIF port 8000 or whatever you set on camera, credentials and the streaming URL. You may do a search on Reolink website and see how to set up RTSP/ONVIF on their cameras.
@jimbouk66_617478786228239 Hello Jim.......... This is one of the common question posed to surveillance professionals. One would argue that the higher the camera is mounted, the less likely it is to be vandalized, obstructed or stolen. But the higher it is mounted, the more likely the image quality suffers as the angle of incident steepens. Recommendations vary, many say never mount cameras less than 12 and 14' off the ground while others say the camera needs to be as close to the human (object) height as possible to get the full facial details. Recall also that people tend to walk with their head tilt downwards (naturally) by say 15 to 20 degrees. At close ranges, camera mounting height is crucial. Even mounted at 7-8', cameras begin to provide decreased facial detail of close subjects looking straight, due to the increased angle of incidence. Above this, the issue is worsened, with the camera capturing the tops of heads. At medium ranges, mounting height effects are quickly lessened. At 24' from the camera, there will be only modest difference in image quality due to angle of incidence, with no practical negative impact. At long ranges, increased mounting height has little effect, as the difference in camera angle is minimal.Rule of thumb and taking the max angle of incidence of 15 degrees, hereunder are the recommended heights.
@user_617216361168971_617216361168971 A shadow is defined as a contour of an object that forms due to the blockage of a light source. The setting here is used to manipulate the light source, exposure of the shadow to add or remove darkness from the image, and the increased dramatic depth of the image.
