@maxuline Battery operated cams tend to have less frequent firmware upgrades. Lately they are upgrading the firmware of batteries cams like Argus 3, Atlas, etc to integrate with the home hub and some NVRs. Since the battery fw is not included in their download center, every 6 months I email support on support @ reolink . com to check for any newer firmware for battery operated cams.
@ddelrosso_61389620748490 I have the WIFI DUO 2 and this is set to event recording. The maximum recorded video per event is 5 min on the SD. If the object is still within the FOV, another file is opened.I only use sd, ftp and HA. Do you set the video file length on NVR?https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/900000640023-What-is-the-Record-Length-on-Reolink-Client/#:~:text=on%20Reolink%20Client-,The%20Record%20Length%20on%20Reolink%20Client,set%20to%205~60%20minutes.&text=Go%20to%20Client%20Setting%20%3E%20Local,change%20the%20Video%20File%20Duration.
@mzumwalt1_471118459977909 The simplest method is to replace the SSID and password on the router side with the previous ones. If, however, the cameras are within reach then change the SSID and password of the hotspot on your smartphone to correspond to the old ones. Then move smartphone near camera and use the appl to access cam. Then connect cam to new WIFI SSID. If you forgot the password of the previous WIFI network then you need to reset cams.
@kimchigun Experience is the best teacher and Reolink should learn from these teachers. ha ha ha......
@reolink-oskar In the past I recall that Reolink have exposed the shutter speed/gain but these are no longer available. These have now been removed as indicated below. "ispExposureMode" : { "permit" : 0, "ver" : 0 }, Would Reolink consider to re-introduce them?In addition we are only able to adjust the brightness of the spotlight but not of the IR. We did ask for a schedule for these functions but so far no feedback. This is a simple software timer. Include it as part of the state machine. Very simple to implement. Question: Is Reolink abandoning the Windows/Mac clients and focusing on Android/IoS?
@chopstix Regardless of the chemistry (uh the days where we had to learn all those formulas !!) of the batteries implemented on Reolink bat cams, cold weather will impact their ability to function. Since batteries run on chemical reactions, and as temperatures drop, these reactions are slowed down and increasing the resistance (the electrolyte becomes more viscous and less conductive at low temperatures), limiting the battery’s operating capacity. Even though lithium-ion batteries perform the best in cold temperatures, they still have a safe operating temperature range that should be followed. Additionally, they have a built-in Battery Management System that prevents them from unsafe operating conditions and won’t allow the battery to operate outside the safe temperature range or accept or charge when the internal temperature of the battery drops below 25°F. Reolink states that their batteries should be charged at temperatures between 0°C and 45°C (32-113°F), and do not use the camera if the temperature drops below -10°C(14°F). But this is the engineering threshold which is lower than the design one. It will operate at more extreme temperatures as customers have witnessed. This, of course, reduces life span and performance. Here in Europe it's sunny with temperature reaching 18 degrees Celsius.
@kimchigun What to expect with 'any motion' enabled! Any change in pixels will trigger a detection. On all my 20s cams I only enable AI detection. FYI there are some issues on playback on the new v4.52 Android client.
@chopstix never laziness shall take over in whatever the situation is. Have goals, challenge and be motivated.
@peter_748442346729617 if you are after a good facial recognition camera then you need to look for expensive cams running in hundreds of bucks. So the question in your case is whether to deter or spy.
@kimchigun if the cam doesn't detect motion for about 10s it stops recording. Increasing the PIR will enable motion to be detected a bit farther away and so it continues to record on the same clip.
@chopstix Set it to 30s. In Europe we say....call it a day :).
@chopstix it will be less. Try it out. Stay in motion.
@chopstix that explains why so many clips. I set the post recording to max. If there are 10s of no detection the camera stops recording.
@chopstix Some observations:
@casa-tecolote_694497117085937 I agree. Would you be able to submit your request to support on support @ reolink .com
@chopstix You will learn and teach
@radioastronomy_410111540293820 Well if the burglar wears a balaclava then you are screwed. By default most security equipment is stored either in garage or basement. Then cable locator and wow here it is. :). My philosophy is that if one wants to break in he will definitely do it no matter what you have. See how many bank heist there have been and some of them still on the run. But to keep our mind at peace we say we did everything we can.You sound to be a good planner like me. I spent a lot of time in planning which really pays off. However, even though my cables are free too, I only run one cable but at any time I can replace any as I did the installation too and knows all the routing olus being documented with photos too.Nice to meet such people. Cheers buddy.
@cvance10_529511550173407 you need to enable the uid on the rlc511wa as illustrated in https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360013481134-How-to-Enable-UID-for-Reolink-Products/
@user_880405136908475_880405136908475 I suggest you to submit your complaint to support on support @ reolink . ComSince you have adjusted the day/night slider and there was no effect then it can be a fw issue
