@ruben-vanlommel_60754004429 I suggest you to email support on support @ reolink . com (delete spaces).
@gralin You need to update manually. And I suggest you that every 3/4 months or so, email support to check whether there is any newer fw for your models. It is not advisable to upgrade once a fw is available (sometimes it is a zip file, sometimes pak file). It is not the first time that after releasing the fw, it will be removed as they discovered a bug. And if you upgrade, the camera might not come up and this means no security at all. So it is recommended that upgrades are carried out manually. I don't know what checks are made before upgrading. I assume that this is done but I suggest you to ask Reolink support or if you have a spare camera.....you might apply a different fw.
@tiaan_781250483077293 So why all these complaints. Hopefully they will sort it out like what they did in the past.
@brent-yoches_392520784879857 Battery operated cams cannot be managed by the NVR fir the obvious reason of battery draining quickly. Yes, you can add Argus 3 Pro/Ultra to your application. Just add them using the UID on your Android/Windows clients. On battery cams, recording can be on SD and/or cloud. No ftp and no nvr integration.
@user_798152400830710_798152400830710 Detection on 823A is based on pixel changes. And this is poe/dc powered camera. Only battery operated cams come with PIR.
@tiaan_781250483077293 But to have the call emulation you need to have the application running.
@artech That implies you need to purchase an NVR with a doorbell. And SIP server requires static public IP (client registration) which is not the case with a number of ISPs. So best option is Reolink/provider hosts the SIP servers.
@tiaan_781250483077293 This is rather based on push notification and so you need to click on the received notification which will start the application or it will pop up if you are in the application as your case. This is not practical at all. Implementation should be based on registration of both doorbell and client. One can use either XMPP + SRTP (whatsapp) or SIPS + SRTP(VOIP). Competitors (arlo, wyze, eufy, etc) implemented the voip method.
@rodp Could be. Android 8 is too old now.
@vodkan_410792752525441 Email support. They should have add it similar to a smartphone. Ensure it is on HSPA as otherwise you have issues.
@user_797938908946587_797938908946587 You need the certificate file with extension .crt and the key file with extension .key. You need to use OpenSSL to generate them.
@user_654306224615431_654306224615431 In the past I had one or two issues with push notifications. One was on Argus 2 and I resolved it by restoring the cameras. I was not on site and so had no means of capturing any traces. On the second occurrence I was on site and so I captured some traces at the router and the smartphone sides. So when I activated push notification from my smartphone on a particular camera (identified by its UID), the client requested a token from Google FCM and subsequently provided in the response message. Then the client forwarded the token (with other parameters such as UID) to Reolink message application server. So far so good. When the camera detected motion, an alert message was sent to the pushx.reolink.com application server. However, the push message notification was not being sent by Google FCM. At the same time I was receiving push notifications for other applications. So I concluded that the issue was at Reolink message application server. It turned out that they were doing some upgrades on these servers. I told them to inform customers of any planned maintenance.Thereafter I didn't had any further issues on push notifications other than the tone which sometimes they mistakenly change during the upgrade. And yes they need to be more consistent between clients. Why I cannot enable/disable ports from the Android client or change the restart time? I informed support several times.
@issom Try to restore previous fw. Seems to be buggy.
@artech Really. It shouldn't do this. Thanks for the update.
@user_797639231463635_797639231463635 So if there are no disconnections when using the Win client then the camera and WiFi are fine. And if there are disconnections when using the smartphone on local WiFi and 4G then there seems to be an issue on smartphone, client or mobile operator network. Can you try another smartphone? Can you use lower resolution say fluent? You should have at least 12Mbps uplink speed to the ISP and smartphone should be on 4G with at least 12Mbps download speed.
@user_797639231463635_797639231463635 And if you connect your smartphone to the same WIFI network as the camera, will you get disconnections?Another suggestion is to install the Windows Reolink client on your PC and add the camera. Check if disconnections re-occur.
@user_797305324978306_797305324978306 Sometimes it happens.
@dae51d Go to amazon and search for startech . Com (delete spaces) 1U server rack shelf. URL cannot be added here.
@shane Most of us are after person, vehicle and pet detections and disable any motion as otherwise we will get a lot of false alarms. But if you want to have any motion only without identifying the object then disable AI detections.
@user_797305324978306_797305324978306 Under advanced FTP settings, enable the change user root directories and set the root share to be the shared FTP folder. Ensure you don't add trailing / at the end of pathname. You may capture a Wireshark trace and see what is happening. Maybe upgrading to tls after connecting in plain ftp.
