@zyler-world_491420490895528 If I understood you correctly, you changed the password of the Reolink application. Actually this is only invoked after application logoff and this is not required when you start Reolink client. I have already informed Reolink about this issue. So change the admin password of each camera and delete any additional users you have created in the cameras.
@jassi1989_576724897919590 Just set it to the max res, max fps and max bitrate from the display menu and watch a live view on Windows PC running Reolink client. Start task manager and go to performance tab and monitor the increase in Receive throughput (preferably in the same WIFI or network whatever you have setup). Toggle between fluent and clear and observe the change in throughput. One might ask what is the difference between bitrate and throughput. Well in simplified terms, bit rate is the number of bits per second required to produce a given level of quality for a given media codec. Throughput is the rate of transfer one is able to sustain over a data link. I have a DUO 2 WIFI and it provides a throughput of around 10Mbps.
@building-a_142124144668895 best way forward is to implement the de-facto standard for IoT messaging which is MQTT. But have no idea when Reolink shall be embarking on this. Competitors already started to deploy it.
@user_610825237635130_610825237635130 I had the same issue with another model and once upgraded I set the alarm delay and object size and it didn't appear again. Hopefully they will release it shortly.
@yuri_601168383385686 In the user management add them as USER. USERs are not allowed to alter device settings, just to change password.
@mesecr_548618857398516 You can watch live views from Android/IOS smartphones and Window/Mac PC.
@matthew_553305464656029 I suggest you to email the Reolink support so that they will check from the logs whether the camera has tried to upload the file. Apart from additional attempts I would program the camera to send an email to the customer informing him/her about the error.
@crimp-on_62210811129 What is needed is facial recognition but I do not think this is on the high priority list of features to implement in the near future. Geofencing is an option but as crimp-on stated you may need the alarm to be triggered even though you are at home. I did propose it but had no feedback.
@house_604246080061505 Unfortunately for the Argus you need to ask the Reolink support to push you the upgrade and then you can upgrade the camera. Please provide the HW version when making the request to the support.
@faasio82_480971996033257 Which Samsung model you are using? For instance S9 doesn't support HEVC files. You need to convert them.I assume you have the most updated Android and tgd most recent Samsung applications. If you ftp the files on the tablet, will you be able to play them?
@janser-dienstleistungen-gmbh_257000373518575 DSL is OK but 4G is different. PGW releases the public IP nearly after each session and there is no guarantee that you will get the same public IP. Then until the camera sends a request to the P2P server you will not be able to communicate with the camera. I said....if you need to have communication at ALL times. It happened to me twice on my 4G router and so I added a fixed IP on my IMSI profile in the HLR and since then had no issue. Try to switch off and on the 4G router (maybe more than once) and try to connect to the camera after you have access to the Internet.
@user_587819347165194_587819347165194 Please change the password to a lengthy strong one and ensure that the camera is not shared by anybody. Is the status led continuously blue ir red? If red there is a wifi issue. If blue either someone is accessing the camera or PIR detected motion. Disable PIR from sensor option and not through schedule. Observe again and let me know the outcome. Note that I have proposed various security options to implement on cameras, one of which is the logging of remote IPs with timestamps.Note that in Standby mode the status LED blinks in blue every 20s. This is normal operation. Other option is to monitor the egress and ingress traffic on the WAN of your BB router using Wireshark. But you need to be a bit technical for this. Changing ISP will not help.
@pierre-gielen_288801745879289 MQTT is an efficient, reliable and instantaneous exchange of small packets of data and messages and so far its application is between IoT devices and connected sensors and applications. Its implimentation on ip camera is still not yet exploited but one day it will be added. It is an exciting enabling technology in this challenging small data world. I didn't see any roadmap of when, if any, Reolink shall add it to their cameras. Maybe this is assigned low priority and for sure it will add extra cost to their units.
@gmac71624_538988406644942 Do you have the same SSID for both 2.4 and 5G? Try to have distinct SSIDs. I have Argus 3 pro and it is connected to 5G.
@craig-brooker_166029527974023 Just a 4G solar powered router and having Reolink solar powered WIFI cameras and voila'.
@magnust Pet detection is current in beta version on a number of models. Reolink development team is still optimizing the detection algorithm to cover a number of pets. Once this phase is accomplished it will be deployed on a number of models. Which models will have it will be announced later on.
@faasio82_480971996033257 Downloading of high res files is either a bandwidth issue or a phone issue. I can download both H.264 and H.265 files in high resolution modes on my Android smartphones without any issue. Ensure that the application stays open as otherwise file transfer stops and won't restart again. And for the second problem I do agree that the application needs more refinement when playing video. Sometimes it appears as slow motion. Even during live stream at high resolution the voice sometimes get chopped. I did inform support on it and hopefully they sort it out.
@edwardlubowitz He needs to establish which service is causing the high processor usage. CPU usage is no longer available on Android 12 in debug mode but he can download the CPU monitor. However, this doesn't give the service usage. I told him to select wipe cache and repair appl from maintenance mode.
@simonhasmith_452962417184939 You may go into maintenance mode - hold vol up, bixby and power buttons with phone off and while usb cable is connect to PC. Then select Wipe Cache and repair Apps.
@simonhasmith_452962417184939 I am running reolink client on three Android smartphones and have no issue of high cpu usage. I suggest you to check that your smartphone is updated to the latest Android verision and to do a cleanup of the memory and any background applications.
