@tntmooney_234036028743894 Yeh is easy to setup. I was considering adding a external infrared light a few metres away to see if that would reduce some reflection off surfaces.have you tried this yourself? curious on what would or wouldnt work
@reolink-fiona Thanks Fiona.I have been going through all the Reolink information and guides to see how I can improve my image quality as I believethe hardware is good, just possibly the software restricting the quality.on all my cameras I cannot see any visible difference in any bitrate setting. Unsure what else i can do toimprove things a bit as overall the cameras are very good, specially at night, they are just lacking someimage detail/clarity
Hi,I am curioss if anyone is able to explain how bitrate settings under stream impact image quality as i have been uable to see any real differenceon mulitple cameras in day or night and wondering if its just me not understanding how it works.I have changed settings on multiple cameras for clarity, full res wether it be 4k or 2k, adjusted bitrate from 2000kbps to 8000kbps, changed hardware decoding/softwareand cannot see any changein image. This is in windows client (currently v8.8) and android app.should these settings only change recording quality or also the quality when just viewing on clarity? Thanks in advance.
@cdrabke_524843821973719 Did you try turning off hardware decoding?
@aleweu547567780 I also would like this. I have cameras in 5 different property locations and so far my best solutionis to reorder them in property order, but grouping would be better
@reolink-fiona Wanted to confirm that when these are released they will be available in Australia?
@jeanmichel-francois_314337194614920 Does the program freeze or the video freeze? If it is the video only, then make sure you have disabled hardware decoding in the client settings
Hey all,Has anyone successfully used a external infrared light source for night vision instead of the internal infrared?looking to see how best to setup to get a clearer image and reduce reflection at night off different surfaces.Wasnt sure if best to setup a few meters away from the camera or if a seperate light would actually make any difference? Thanks in advance
@lunitunz_551449740943604 I have had the same issue but it was cobwebs or moth eggs etc on the lense, but during the day I cannot see them on footage. At night the infrared highlights them.Make sure the lense is properly cleaned. Happens on all my cameras
@reolink-fiona ive ran new ethernet cable under the house and setup POE ready to go to test mine. Will be a great addition to the Reolink family...
@reolink-fiona Fiona, can you please ask development team if when changing to software decoding, does this use a particular view codec or java etc?looking at why some people still get black screen and thinking something is missing that could be easily updated for these people?
@bill-doria out of curiousity, have you updated java or are running a late version 8 of java?
@geschinsky_376216486543563 Check for latest driver on graphics card from Nvidia website. Also confirm that each camera is on latest firmware.
@lindsay_464625727078605 so hardware decoding is turned off?Which graphics card are you using?Could be a setting on the card or a driver issue
@adehel037_550048558833899 https://community.reolink.com/topic/3746/client-v8-8-0-beta-test-finally-the-time-lapse-function-on-the-clientThis version will let you turn off hardware decoding and will fix the issue
@gsieben_265907787661543 The problem appears to be a conflict or compatibility with some graphics cards. If you can turn off hardware decoding that should fix it.Latest Beta version link below:https://community.reolink.com/topic/3746/client-v8-8-0-beta-test-finally-the-time-lapse-function-on-the-client
@bill-doria https://community.reolink.com/topic/3746/client-v8-8-0-beta-test-finally-the-time-lapse-function-on-the-clientDownload the new version (although a beta)Turn off hardware decoding
@simonso_527800309649569 It appears to be a compatibility issue with onboard/inbuilt graphics cards, hopefully this will be fixed in V8.8im unsure if there is a way to turn off hardware accelleration (Maybe in your graphics settings on the PC) as this should fixthe issue until reolink can fix. This issue does only seem to impact onboard cards from what I can see, but works perfect with PC's with a graphics card
Im also wondering if it appears to be an issue with intel integrated graphics cards.Havent seen anyone so far with this issue with non integrated cards?Maybe a firmware/software update for the graphics card?
@lindsay_464625727078605 Has anyone either tried a java update or Direct X update?going through all the installed files noticed a lot of reference to Java. Also have had issues with video viewing/streaming with direct x before with graphics cards.
