If you think the SD card recording is not safe enough, you can upload the recordings to the cloud. And you also can choose a hidden location to install your camera. Yes, you can try lowing the sensitivity to reduce the false alarm. Refer to How to Avoid False Alerts on Reolink Cameras.
Reolink PoE security cameras can work with the Ethernet cable of CAT 5 and above. You can choose one of our PoE cameras to work with the CAT 6 flat wire. But you need to purchase the flat wire on your own. Thank you for supporting Reolink.

And maybe you can consider the battery-powered camera next time which is totally wireless and easy to install. The log out time in Reolink App has been extended to 20 minutes. In Reolink Client, the warning of log out will prompt out in 5 minutes and will log out after 10 sec if you haven't conducted any further demand. Sorry that you can't find the individual camera’s firmware via Reolink App or Client. You can check the firmware of the cameras only when you connect the NVR to the monitor, and then you can find the camera's firmware in Menu->IP channel page.
