Customers want clearer pictures and able to read text or numbers within reasonable range. They are also requesting higher fps especially at night time. And yes customers are looking also for HDR implementation. All this comes at a higher processing power and very powerful sensor. Can someone from Reolink development team update us on when these shall be made available to its customer?
@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 Reolink Administrator..........Please take note. Thanks.
@magnus_514899017814160 Subsequently the IR is not triggered. That should be fine. IR sometimes causes reflections and the camera lens is not able to filter it. This results in blury objects . To avoid it one has to use powerful external IR illuminators in line of sight with the camera. It is the light sensor at the front which regulates the switch-on time of the IR LED and most probably the cameras have different sensors and thence sensitivity. Moreover E1 models have larger CMOS image sensors which means more area to capture light.
@magnus_514899017814160 Put Day and Night to auto and IR lights to auto and ensure there is no external light which will hinder the IR light to switch on. The fact that it records in colour during the night implies that there is adequate external light.
@debbie-pepin_37805027844313 Ensure you are using the same SSID (wifi name)? Try to remove battery and put it back and check again. If still unable to connect reset camera to factory settings and start again. I have two Argus 2 for 3 years now and had no similar issues. I presume the status LED is flashing in red.
I have seen various requests in this community and reddit whereby customers have requested old firmware versions, maybe following a bad upgrade or an upgrade which failed to provide the desired outcome. Contacting support to get the previous firmware may take days and this cannot be the case for security. Therefore it is recommended to have the old firmware of the cameras also available in the download center.
@kdweilacher_417703267156214 I had this issue twice on Argus 2, if I recall correctly after upgrading the Android Reolink client. It did forward the email but failed to send the push notification message. All I did was restoring the cameras and push notification resumed operation. When restoring the camera, all the config is deleted with the exception of WIFI setup (if you have a WIFI cam). Have you upgraded the client? If it persists you can contact Reolink support on https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
@icecoolwrx_610440673022001 You really pushed it hard. If it is sealed then there is no way to extract it back. Easiest way is what you stated, to re-insert another one. You should feel a "click" when the sd card is in deep enough. Follow this link https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360020273853-How-to-Install-Micro-SD-Card-for-Reolink-Cameras?gclid=CjwKCAjw-L-ZBhB4EiwA76YzOYIukrx4rJHW8y2TwWS-WedyPVYauNHirrIcKwIq22IMiwjZD2FwohoCVlQQAvD_BwE.
@user_602724781011001_602724781011001 Moreover you can transfer the mp4 files to a remote ftp server by using the FTP or FTPS feature. CGNAT are normally implemented on PGW (mobile packet core gateway) and it should not present major issues as the camera at regular intervals communicates with the P2P server to update the IP/Port based on UID. What you may experience is sometimes you are unable to communicate with the camera (literally minimal). On packet mobile core data session normally terminates after 12 hours (depends on operator's choice) and there is no guarantee that the same public IP is assigned by the PGW during the re-establishment of the new session. But if this is so the camera at regular interval communicates with Reolink P2P server which gets the new IP/port if it did change.
@diogostefani_543814670500058 This is available on the new Duo 2 Wifi battery operated camera which shall be available soon. However, it lacks pet detection which presumably will be introduced at a later date. Maybe if there are many requests they shall introduce it on the first generation Duo.
@user_611791093248039_611791093248039 Reolink Android/Ios and Windows/Mac clients are designed to manage Reolink products. To manage 3rd party cameras you need to seek other clients.
@janser-dienstleistungen-gmbh_257000373518575 The maximum duration of a data session on a mobile packet core is 12 hours (depends on mobile operator) and so the UE has to re-establish a new session. During the re-establishment of the new data session there is no guarantee that the PGW will assign you the same public IP. So from this instance to the moment the camera sends a request to the Reolink P2P server, there is no way to communicate with it. I work in the mobile networks and know what I am saying. People don't notice this as they are not always communicating with the camera and if not available they will retry. They don't know why it was not possible to log on.
@k_579135468155422 I concur that there should be a file service process which shall ftp the file once it has been saved to the SD/cloud. It should be an independent process as otherwise it will impact other monitoring processes as you clearly stated. However, as regards ftping videos based on event type, this has already been implemented at least on AI cameras such as E1 OD, RLC511, etc. Check if your AI cameras have the most updated firmware. In case this is not shown on their website contact Reolink support. As for dropbox, onedrive and google drive interoperability, I think this shall defeat their cloud strategy. Normally this is available when the supplier don't offer any cloud service.
@liubinskas_579130340581603 I have no issue with ftping files from both RLC511 and E1 OD using their latest firmware. I am using the Ceberus ftp server. Check for any FW rule.
@zyler-world_491420490895528 If I understood you correctly, you changed the password of the Reolink application. Actually this is only invoked after application logoff and this is not required when you start Reolink client. I have already informed Reolink about this issue. So change the admin password of each camera and delete any additional users you have created in the cameras.
@jassi1989_576724897919590 Just set it to the max res, max fps and max bitrate from the display menu and watch a live view on Windows PC running Reolink client. Start task manager and go to performance tab and monitor the increase in Receive throughput (preferably in the same WIFI or network whatever you have setup). Toggle between fluent and clear and observe the change in throughput. One might ask what is the difference between bitrate and throughput. Well in simplified terms, bit rate is the number of bits per second required to produce a given level of quality for a given media codec. Throughput is the rate of transfer one is able to sustain over a data link. I have a DUO 2 WIFI and it provides a throughput of around 10Mbps.
@building-a_142124144668895 best way forward is to implement the de-facto standard for IoT messaging which is MQTT. But have no idea when Reolink shall be embarking on this. Competitors already started to deploy it.
@user_610825237635130_610825237635130 I had the same issue with another model and once upgraded I set the alarm delay and object size and it didn't appear again. Hopefully they will release it shortly.
@yuri_601168383385686 In the user management add them as USER. USERs are not allowed to alter device settings, just to change password.
@mesecr_548618857398516 You can watch live views from Android/IOS smartphones and Window/Mac PC.
