@user_927738643050698_927738643050698 If you are able to install cat6 cable to the locations then there is no choice other than going to POE. Before purchasing you need to know your requirements and then check the various Reolink camera which shall suit you. RLC-811A is quite good but you may perhaps need to cover more area in which case a 180 degree camera will be more suitable. Apart from the horizontal field of view (FOV) you should take into consideration of the vertical FOV. Note that new cameras tend to have lower vertical FOV. Argus 3 Pro is a battery camera and so you won't have 24x7 recording and there is no pre-recording. You should have battery cams if and only if there is no power. If the area to be monitors is well lit then consider to have a CX camera which provides colour recording during the night. As for the NVR see how many cameras you intend to connect today and in the future. You may opt for the RLN-36 which can connect 36 channels. Note that this has no POE ports and it is not delivered with any HDD. You need to buy the HDD and its capacity can go up to 48T.
@home-ajuda_907401242202296 Calling from the doorbell is essentially based on push notification. So in order to have the calling prompt the application has to be running in the background. If you are on Android then search for how to allow an application to run in the background. I already asked support that the proper way of implementing calling is to use VOIP or XMPP (like whatsapp). However, we as customers cannot impose anything but rather suggest and complain.
@user_835217801416859_835217801416859 I suggest you to request this to support.
@davideotto if you plan to buy POE cams (best cams) then opt for the RLN36. This is cheap compared to the others because it is not equipped with any HDD. However, this NVR has the max storage capacity of up to 48TB. Moreover there are 8 alarms In and 4 Alarms Out ports which allow you to connect external devices such as sensors or trigger devices such an external alarm. The Home Hub Pro (HHP) allows the connection of 12 plug in (POE or dc powered WIFI) cams and 12 battery operated cams. Videos are stored both on the SD installed in each camera and on the HHP. You can play it either from HHP or SD. Note that AI detection is done at the camera side and you can play all the videos on HHP. With recent fw upgrades Reolink NVR RLN 8 and 16 have a hybrid switch added. In case of RLN36 there is no POE port and so you need to have an independent POE switch. Personally I wouldn't use the hybrid for the other model since when the NVR is down then one cannot connect to the cameras. To achieve more flexibility, customers use to integrate the NVR with the Home Assistance.
@chopstix Additional note to Chopstix's comment.Ensure that the preference band is set to auto when changing from 5G to 2.4G band as otherwise it will not anchor to the 2.4G band.
@davideotto Good to know that I was of some support. Someday they need to deploy it on NVR too as they did on the home hub pro.
@markus Markus, I am a customer like you and I volunteer to provide support to members of this community based on my engineering skills and experience. Have a look at https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/900000625446-Which-Cameras-NVRs-Support-FTP-Uploading/
@reocam_448003255267488 I read that it is possible to view it on Roku TV using the camera IP viewer pro. From the reolink application you need to enable ONVIF/RTSP.There is no security issue to use ONVIF. Most of the third party applications like Home Assistance, BI, they all require ONVIF to communicate and stream from the Reolink Cams.
@davideotto Yes through the POE switch. So when you run the Android application on your smartphone connected to the same network as the cameras, you should have the individual cameras apart from the NVR. However, note that if you bought the cameras as a kit then you may not be able to connect to them remotely. This is because they are not assigned a UID.
@davideotto You need to connect the cameras through a switch which will allow you to have full control of the cameras. Here you can switch off the siren with a shortcut. However, since this is not yet available on your NVR I suggest you to open a ticket with support. Maybe they have a beta fw which allows it.
@brodie You get what you pay for. If you buy fine clothes you buy Paul & Shark, Hugo Boss, etc.
@mannyf_917625001046227 I am using the Android client and can paint till the border and save it.You need time to adapt in everything. One essential factor is patience.
@user_895688165351606_895688165351606 Ensure the browser supports H.265.
@impex_634774613635083 I don't use MAC and IoS. However, I am at Reddit Community too and there you will definitely find customers using MAC who will definitely help you. Just create an account on https://www.reddit.com/r/reolinkcam/ and post there.
@markus Yes you can. Follow this link https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360020081034-How-to-set-up-FTP-for-Reolink-Products/
@chopstix I have two DUO 2 and their vertical FOV fits well in the scenario. DUO 3 have lower vertical FOV. I cannot find a solid reason for lowering the vertical FOV since the CMOS sensor is not an issue.
@ale I suggest you that you open a ticket with support as you will not receive concrete answers from here. We are volunteers supporting members based on our technical skills and experience. Most of your requests have to be answered by a Reolink technical person.Hereunder please find my personal comments to your requests.1.1. It seems that Reolink are more focused on the Android and IoS applications rather than the Windows/Mac clients. These clients haven't been upgraded for quite some time. I suggested that any changes or addition should be synchronised across all platforms.1.2 I have requested scheduling and status for shortcuts (and other features) for a long time now. This is quite desirable as we tend to forget and we are dealing with security. 1.3/1.4 I have asked to add IFTTT/matter/MQTT on HHP. In this way we will be in a better position to control the other entities connected to the HHP. I am performing some automation through HA which is quite good. 1.5 I have asked for this too. However, I added the inclusion of a SIP client which shall call a number of MSISDNs/Fixed Nos. If it is difficult to offer a SIP server then just add the SIP client and let the customer selects an IMS operator to register with. If these two entities are added then we can remove the alarm panels. So here Reolink will enter the alarm panel market too.2.1. Yes I noticed that but I didn't report. I asked for more rigorous testing before being available to the customers. 2.2 I have requested a similar scenario of the NVR where the cameras can also be accessed directly (assuming they are connected through a switch or hybrid switch). Moreover I have asked for files synchronisation if the HHP loses power and the camera is still recording (eg battery). Currently the new files in SD are not uploaded to the HPP. And there is no indication that the HPP had lost power. 3.1 This will be available when the cameras can also be accessed directly. Here you shall enable the FTP in the camera. I asked for the Windows client to have the possibility to view files which have been ftped to an ftp server. I also suggested the addition of 3 digits (or characters) in the filename to denote which objects have been detected. Uh we suggest a lot and a lot. If the software is open source we already added most of these features :).
@davideotto Yes, I understand. In the Home Hub Pro this is solved. I suggest you to open a ticket with support.
@davideotto Are you controlling the NVR or the cameras individually with the shortcut?I think individual cameras can control the siren with a shortcut. However, through the NVR, only the buzzer can be controlled. Personally this doesn't make sense.
@user_877629909930183_877629909930183 Check out this https:// www dot amazon dot com/dp/B0BCDP721Q?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_shareIndeed this community site needs a revamp. Sometimes I cannot add URLs....sometimes there is no URL and rejected...and then I give up.... in your case I tried 3 times and had to amend it.At reddit we have no issues at all to add pictures, URL etc.
