@davideotto if you plan to buy POE cams (best cams) then opt for the RLN36. This is cheap compared to the others because it is not equipped with any HDD. However, this NVR has the max storage capacity of up to 48TB. Moreover there are 8 alarms In and 4 Alarms Out ports which allow you to connect external devices such as sensors or trigger devices such an external alarm. The Home Hub Pro (HHP) allows the connection of 12 plug in (POE or dc powered WIFI) cams and 12 battery operated cams. Videos are stored both on the SD installed in each camera and on the HHP. You can play it either from HHP or SD. Note that AI detection is done at the camera side and you can play all the videos on HHP. With recent fw upgrades Reolink NVR RLN 8 and 16 have a hybrid switch added. In case of RLN36 there is no POE port and so you need to have an independent POE switch. Personally I wouldn't use the hybrid for the other model since when the NVR is down then one cannot connect to the cameras. To achieve more flexibility, customers use to integrate the NVR with the Home Assistance.
@das-dos_208145718501556 According the API v8 the following parameters are mandatory in command SetEnc.And so the curl command should be as follows.curl -s -k -X POST -H "Content-Type : application/json" -d "[{\"cmd": \"SetEnc\",\"action\": 0,\"param\": {\"Enc\": {\"channel\": 0,\"audio\": 1,\"mainStream\": {\"size\": \"2560*1920\",\"frameRate\": 20,\"bitRate\": 4096,\"profile\": \"High\"},\"subStream\": {\"size\": \"640*480\",\"frameRate\": 10,\"bitRate\": 256,\"profile\": \"High\"}}}" "https://#IP#/cgi-bin/api.cgi?cmd=SetEnc&user=#username#&password=#passwd#"Please replace the IP with the cam IP and the username and passwd with your credentials.And if it doesn't reboot you can reboot it usingcurl -s -k -X POST -H "Content-Type : application/json" -d "[{\"cmd\":\"Reboot\",\"action\":0,\"param\":{}}]" "https://#IP#/cgi-bin/api.cgi?cmd=Reboot&user=#username#&password=#passwd#"
@reolink-oskar Just to add a note: Some people have complained of condensation. Well, a camera that has power will generate a small amount of heat. The cold air outside versus the slightly temperature of the camera will create condensation on the inside of the lens. The colder and the more humid the climate, the longer this effect will last. Normally this shall disappear after a day or two.
@wisemanjaw Agree. We have been telling them to have the application check the fw of the connected cameras and if a new one is available it shall prompt the user. I don't know the reason why this has not been implemented from day 1. This is readily available on competitors application.
@kevin-marchant_394632396636406 Your requests have already been requested by a number of customers including myself. We have requested that the doorbell does a VOIP call to our smartphone similar to what other brands have. We have also requested to have distinct notification sound for each camera.Currently the doorbell has a single notification function covering both detection type. Kindly send a request to support on https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/requests/new/Their priority is based on the number of requests per requested feature.
@rol_640066282610764 The only way to add a camera to a Reolink NVR is at the NVR console. You need to connect a monitor and a mouse to the NVR and add it there. You can't add cameras in the app or web UI.And make sure you have the recent fw on both the NVR and doorbell. Go to Reollnk Download Center and check them out.
@big_ted I do have the Argus 4 Pro and already observed connection instability. I am on a previous fw and will ask for this newer fw to check it out. But why we have to ask support for new firmware for battery cams? Have been complaining for years now.
@big_ted I just ignore. Unfortunately this is the world TODAY.
@big_ted I am going through this with my Argus 4 Pro. Seems customer care is based on AI posing irrelevant questions.
@mamymam2013_465350299701478 uh... I was replying to another member and didn't know I clicked your reply. Lapsus. I did delete it. Don't worry.
@big_ted I have almost the same situation. I have two battery operated DUO 2 and they have different fw. I told them to push me the newer fw on one of them. They told me that the installed version is the newer. I told them not the case as can be seen from the compilation date and the index value. They need to understand that some of the customers are quite technical, some are engineers with Master degrees and lots of experience.
@lafunamor This is only available on the NVR and the HHP. Not yet available on the application itself.
@sams-sealcoat-and-striping-llc_757408999772347Well there is a reason for placing Solar Panels in northern hemisphere towards the true south (and in the southern, true north). Usually this is the best direction because solar panels will receive direct light throughout the day. There are a number of factors influencing the charging of batteries amongst of which is temperature. Batteries stops charging when the temperature is below 0 C. I will not delve in the chemistry....Moreover if the camera is in high traffic zone then the solar panel current output may not be enough to charge it. You may say, well I will install a higher wattage solar panel. This won't solve your issue as the charging current is limited by the circuit on board of the camera. The solution would be, if possible, to replace the battery cameras with plug in models (POE or plug in). Battery cams are better than having nothing but for optimal security one opts for POE. No disconnection, 24x7 recording, immediate log on, etc.If I am correct you seem to have a 4G cam and a battery cam. In case of the 4G ensure you have good 4G signal with upload speed of at least 12Mbps. And when using your smartphone ensure your download speed is at least 12Mbps. On 3G you shall experience issues as the bandwidth is much lower. For the WIFI cameras ensure that the signal is strong and the upload speed at the camera location is at least 12 Mbps. You may install ookla from playstore and check it out. If your camera is connected to 5G then try to connect to 2.4G band. This has lower wavelength and subsequently longer range.
@smarticek_594824045961254 Can you disable the Nvidia and Intel HD video drivers and allow only the default one? Just for a test. And try to install the 8.11.0 and check it out.Get it from here https://community.reolink.com/topic/6925/pc-client-v8-14-0/6?post_id=26768&_=1708000542842
@chopstix So yours is dc powered. That's why it has tracking.
@lafunamor Not yet through application but through monitors connected to NVR.

@user_709297619894472_709297619894472 Rather than locking can you block its mac address on the farther AP?
@big_ted At the same time it is rather difficult to comply with every request :).
